Shelby Valley 77 Floyd Central 73

Game would’ve been totally different with Howard there. Fc left up many 2nd chances points and too many rebounds which Howard would’ve cut down those numbers. Jags will get them next time now to look forward to the district game Friday Night vs BL @ home

Where was Howard? How did Spriggs do?

Yea I think with Howards inside presence and rebounding Jags would have taken this game. SV offensive rebounds was the deciding factor.

One thing I've noticed the few times I've seen Valley play this season, they don't have the size, but they have a knack for the ball when it comes to rebounding, they killed Paintsville early on at the ALL A tournament on the boards, rebounding is all about positioning, and just flat out fighting for the ball, and they seem to do a great job at that despite going up against bigger teams.

I know FC was hoping to get a big time win heading into a district showdown Friday, but just couldn't get over the hump. Spriggs has been out for awhile now, haven't heard anything official but being out this long, doesn't look good for him returning, and why was the Howard kid out for them? To be as young as he is, he's still a difference maker especially rebounding and rim protection. Tough one on Friday at home as they host Betsy Layne.

This game wasn’t as close as the final score shows. SV got in some foul trouble in the 3rd with Buck and Johnson heating up the second half making it a close game. Buck is a stud and if/when Spriggs gets back Floyd will be a tough team to deal with.
