Could this be what the 15th regional championship looks like??? A little preview of it

If MC played with the discipline Paintsville plays with they could absolutely dominate some ball games. I commented in another thread if Paintsville handles the press and doesn’t get sucked into a high pace game they could squeak out a 2-3 point win. If MC stays disciplined and don’t turnover the basketball a ton they could win by as much as 10-15. I realistically think MC 70. PAINTSVILLE 62. I will say I think Paintsville matches up as good with MC as anyone as long as they make it half court basketball. If they get in a back and forth it could get ugly.

I feel like Paintsville is very capable of winning this game. Both teams come into this game undefeated in region play. I do feel like these are the two best teams in the region and I think it will be a preview of the region championship

Watched both teams play tonight. Paintsville is very disciplined. More so than previous years. If Martin county plays sloppy or even like tonight Paintsville wins by 8 or more. I like Paintsville 68-59

I'm leaning Martin co but Paintsville with their work ethic and "play till we're dead" style of play could give Martin co all they want... Depends on which Martin co shows up.... Martin co could win by 10 or be in the fight of their lives... Im looking forward to seeing it

I was right about the Pburg game and I hope I’m right about the championship. Martin is gonna pull this one out but will be closer than they will want it to be. Davis, watts, and the other player just can get up and down better than anyone else in the region. Estep is a lockdown defender and Maynard is a beast underneath. Another big disadvantage for paintsville is having to play them on the bigger floor. Martin will be making the trip to Owensboro

Friday at 7. I would tell you to go out and attend to support these local student athletes, but that means $12(TWELVE) for a ticket, $5 for a large pop, $4 if you want a water, $4 for a hot dog! $6 if you want sauce on it, and $5 for a "personal pan" pizza that wouldn't be enough to feed a fly. So if it's you, and someone else with you you're looking at $50-60, just for the ALL A TOURNAMENT.
Place is a joke, and this tournament desperately needs out of there and back into the high schools.

No love lost between these two rivals.
Multitude of things will determine the outcome of this game. Paintsville is more disciplined in their half court sets offensively, they had their way with Valley especially in the paint, got whatever they wanted around the basket & mid range, didn't have to settle for long contested 3's. Valley doesn't have the size Martin Co has so it will be a tougher task for Paintsville to get those opportunities again, not saying they won't get them but it'll be a challenge. With that being said, Paintsville plays a more conservative style, but they can run & gun if need be, they don't necessarily rely on that style of play, but if it turns into a track meet, they can adapt to it. Rebounding will be huge also, Paintsville had some problems early on against Valley getting good box out position, and not coming down 2 hands with the rebound, with the size Martin Co has compared to Valley, Paintsville can't afford to give MC too many 2nd chances, those lost possessions will kill a team.
A lot on the line here so everyone knows emotions are going to be high, liable to get chippy. Seems like that's the way Martin Co likes it, so it'll be important for Paintsville to keep their heads about them, especially if it's a close game down the stretch.
Just wish this was in a high school so the atmosphere would be electric, having the ALL A at the expo is a complete joke, that place is so outdated. Countless dead spots on the floor, outrageous prices to get in and prices at the concession are ridiculous. To a very small extent, I can understand the 15th Region Tournament being at the expo, not by much tho, but the ALL A Tournament needs the hell out of there.
As for a prediction, just with how disciplined Paintsville plays compared to the style of Martin Co, I think that will be the difference in this one. Should be a great game.

Martin Co-68

For me this game comes down to a couple different things.
For Paintsville they have to play a slower pace and run their offensive sets and making Martin county guard. To do that they have to handle Martin's full court pressure but with their length I think they could pass through it pretty easily as disciplined as they have been. If they try to dribble through it Martin will turn them over and get dunks.
For Martin they have to play at a fast pace and make Woods run as many trips up and down the floor as possible. He is the one mismatch Paintsville has with his inside presence and if Martin runs him to death then that gives them a heavy advantage. It also depends which Martin team shows up. Sometimes they come out and get after it defensively like they did against Pikeville and other times a very weak Perry Central team beat them because they didn't play with that intensity. But this being a district rival I think Martin will have that intensity.
Either way it goes this will be within 10 points in my opinion. Good luck to both teams and I hope whoever wins represents our region well in the state tournament.

They do not. If you’re over the age of 4, it’s $12. Idk how any administration in eastern KY would vote for this. And if they do, they should be removed from decision making processes.

I think Paintsville has a good shot at this game but they'll have to play much better than they did the first 2 games to top a very talented Martin Co team. If Paintsville is able to get Martin's best defenders (Maynard/Estep) in foul trouble early then they can dominate in their half court sets. Paintsville is a much more disciplined team and I think a better coached team than Martin. Need to pound the paint in the 1st qtr and prevent Martin from playing their run/gun game and stretching an early lead like they want to. Force Martin to be methodical getting the ball up the floor and force them to shoot contested 3's by cutting off Watts penetrating and they are beatable. I think Coach Slone will have the recipe, but whether his young team can execute it or not will be the question. I don't think Martin does anything different against Paintsville than they've done against everyone else. Step on the gas early and play their game.
Should be a much better game than the one I watched last night, at least, and hopefully they have better officials that will keep the game under control. The officials in the Pburg/Martin game were awful. I also agree that the Expo is a joke. I won't be attending another game there unless Pburg somehow makes a championship game. Get that gate money back to a school where it belongs and have it rotate between the bigger school gyms the way the 15th tournament used to do. Expo is a money racket and honestly a pretty pitiful basketball experience. No reason to keep these tournaments there.

If you spend big money on the concessions it's on you. Bologna & cheese with mayo and bag of chips before the game plus ticket = $12 game cost for me lol. But even better is watching on WPRG for $0.

Say what you want about Martin county but yr after yr they find there selves playing in the biggest games. Whether you like or don’t like how they play they win a lot of games. it seems like they Have owned the 57th district for the last several yrs but would have to check. That being said the 15th region champion will once again come from the 57th district. Three teams capable of winning it. I haven’t written Jc off just yet but they r 3rd in my opinion right now. As for this game. 73-70 mc. But could go either way. Both teams are very good
