Glad to hear we are still living rent-free in your mind. If you would like to see the 4A state championship trophy just stop by Paducah Tilghman high School.
Btw, in 2025, anyone who is undervaluing or discounting Mr Haddix and Boyle, you do so at your own risk of ridicule. Boyle will be solid, as always, and right there in the running for another trophy.

Boyle had Flaws all year... Cov. Cath. Just proved it.... They become a one man show down the stretch with defensive issues... PT was far more talented than Boyle this year.. But I think Boyle may have been a better match up skill wise for PT.

I know one thing their off season will for sure grow some young kids up next.. I will be interested to see if any of the incoming frosh can contribute. They were back to back state champs.
FC will be fine because of their continuity in coaching and willingness to schedule tough to test themselves.
FC added Bowling Green to the schedule this year week 10 before the playoffs. I'm sure the season is littered with strong competition.. You don't do that if you aren't expecting to be good. I say the Flyers will contend.... again.

Haddix just wanted Quisenberry to win Mr. Football, he didn't care about nothing else. Believe it or not some kids on Boyle dont like Haddix. Boyle needs to hire a new defensive coordinator, the two they got now are pretty bad.

Depends on who you are talking about. Haddix wants to win. He's a competitive guy. Boyle is all about winning titles, not individual accolades. That's what makes them special. As far as not liking Haddix, all I can go by is what some Corbin fans and players have told me. Not every player likes likes EVERY Haddix.

Im sorry, but you are not going to convince me of this statement. I know him, and he is the one coach that will go out of his way and speak to you no matter the circumstances. Most coaches I have ran into duck and hide and act like they don't know who you are in public. Then the work he puts into the program and getting up at 4:30 in the mornings and putting together during the week meals for the team to make a family atmosphere. Takes and promotes the kids. I have been told my numerous parents at Boyle; they were ready for a different direction before Haddix had came. Those who told me had kids who played under the previous coach. They were extremely happy of how he respects the players. I think any coach if they had a player capable of winning a Mr. Football would not be a coach if they didn't support the individual athlete and hoped they might win. But Quisenberry had the least stats of any candidate. Not because the games were only focused on his stats. As far as the defensive coordinator, I know nothing about any of that. But knowing Haddix, he will be on top of the situation. Boyle will be fine with Haddix around.

I would say Boyle is a hard place to be as coach... with the shadows of some pretty good coaches before Haddix's time. He has won a ton of games and rings of his own.. So I would guess he handles it well... But when you walk into a program like this.. and you come up short...you are gonna hear it all...

I'm about as far from being a Boyle County fan as it gets and there is no way to support a claim that the most important things to Haddix was having Quisenberry win Mr. Football.
Like Bull said, Quisenberry's stats were not as impressive as some of the other candidates. The stats were not more impressive because Haddix spread the workload around and pulled starters early in running clock games.

I think that is a fair statement. But it comes for any program that is accustomed to winning championships. Look at Trinity for example, before the last 2 championships, alot of Trinity fans were calling for that coach's job based on what I was reading and hearing. With the world of social media today, coaching is a little harder because you have to read or see more of the comments good or bad. 4A is a tuff class. When you play the 3rd round, you can lose because all these teams are well coached, and they all want to win.

On another site it was mentioned that the upcoming Boyle Senior Class struggled in Middle School or something to that effect. Not sure what that means now if anything for this upcoming season. Also mentioned that Ashton Drakeford from Mercer County has enrolled at Boyle. Anyone on here closer to the program have any info on either of these topics?

I think when it came down to the last couple of weeks you had about 5 teams that were capable of winning it all.
But just being capable doesn’t earn you anything and that’s not a knock at anyone it is just the facts.
To win it all you need a healthy team, good chemistry and belief in your abilities, a Coaching staff with a great game-plan and an even better ability to adjust, and to minimize mistakes.
You can get pretty far by missing one or two of those items, but to win it all you have to be pretty solid in those aspects.
Those five teams were just too good to beat by not playing almost flawless.

I think that's a fair post with valid points. Corbin failed to adjust to PT's adjustments after halftime. That was costly.

Imagine how many coaches we would have left if they were all fired after one year of doing a new job? I think that for year one Mills and Arnett did a fine job calling the defense. I would also think that in any program you will have plenty of kids that don't like their coach. I think Mills and Arnett should be given some grace and time before everyone gives up on them. As a point of comparison in 2020 Boyle played 11 games and gave up 10 pts per game. This year in 2024 they played 13 and gave up 142. So 2020 gave up 10 pts a game and 2024 gave up 11. Jeff Hester who is an amazing coach and defensive mind compared to two guys doing it for their first year and its a one point difference. Give them time they are both great coaches and will be great DCs.

Those are good coaches. They did outstanding. Maybe not by Boyles standard because they don't like losing but they also easily could have won the game.

Looks like Frederick Douglass has Corbin, Highlands and Boyle County on the schedule and that should give a real good look at 4A East.
