We're not far from kickoff. Anyone have any last minute predictions?
I'm still going with Penn State.
I'm still going with Penn State.
This one I'm still torn on. Notre Dame is tough and I'm kinda on the bandwagon a little bit lol! I said after the Big Ten title game I wasn't impressed with Penn State's defense. The past few games they've proved me wrong. There defense has really picked it up. Plus next to Ohio St it's been Penn State that I've been most impressed with in the playoffs so far.
So idk how to pick this one. I'm 50/50 could see it going either way. I'm just going to relax and here shortly enjoy what should be a good game

They both kinda got this special energy going, between the coaches and players. Something else to keep a eye on. Which I kinda get that feeling from Penn State right now as well.

Notre Dame seeing how it is to be playing with a backup QB (and two backup OLs). Thought they might have gotten a break on the sack/non-fumble with about a minute left in the 1st half.
Talk about message boards and social media lighting up, imagine if Notre Dame stages a 10 point comeback win with their backup QB. Even if they fall just short, it probably pours gas on the SEC vs. Big Ten & Notre Dame postseason fire.

I don't like either team.

I have read with amusement CJ document all the breaks ND has gotten in the playoffs but missed hold and interception wiped out the last 2 drives were huge breaks for PS. Great game though and I will be rooting for the winner of this game in the 'ship.

I'd posted that just before half as the back-up QB was leading their FG drive. Was trying to say that if their back-up QB led them to a comeback win that the SEC fans who said "but Georgia's backup" would be getting an earful.
Didn't get to see as much as I'd have liked, but what I did see was a fun watch.

Watched this one from start to finish, unfortunately this wasn't the Championship game, an instant classic. Texas-OSU have a tough act to follow tonight.
I've always liked Penn St for person reasons, but didn't mind seeing Notre Dame win. This one was a defensive stalemate for the first 3 quarters, and then the offenses finally decided to show up, but defense won the game for ND with that late INT in the 4th.
I'll definitely be rooting for ND in the National Championship regardless of who they play.

Even though I’m an SEC guy, I’ll be pulling for Notre Dame also, even if they are playing Texas. I just can’t get warmed up yet to Texas and Oklahoma as SEC schools. I am, however, all in for the Longhorns tonight, please, please keep Ohio St. out of the championship game.

I'll agree with the OSU part, definitely for Texas tonight but after that Go Irish.

Now you need ND to win it all, a non conference team wins National Championship.

I couldn't decide who was worse---

Hence, I had no rooting interest in this game. I watched 0 seconds of it. Too bad both couldn't have lost.
I also despise the state of Texas(please secede) and I'm not a big Buckeye fan. So, I'm not interested.

Somebody's meds are out of whack, yet again. I don't know how much money the psych team makes, but it's not nearly enough.

I actually had a virtual appt. with my psyche lady today but she had to cancel due to a personal emergency. I did see my urologist last week and he put me on FLOMAX, though I doubt that will help with the hate I feel for sexual abusers of children like Happy Valley's Jerry Sanduskey or Cardinal Theodore McCarrick. When I think of terrible men like those two, I truly wish a fiery , everlasting torment wasn't just wishful thinking on the part of the religious crowd.

Why do we need that?
I'm not saying that I am going to disagree, just wanting to hear the reasoning. I'm guessing that you may see it as something that leads to conferences weakening, but it will take much more than a National Championship by an Independent with a strong brand, national following, and history to really shake things up.
Now, if they win a second or third championship in short order and it looks like they're getting a huge advantage from not having to share revenue, then things may change.
Even if that happens, most schools don't have the religious factor that gives Notre Dame a national fan base, so I don't know that they can sell themselves to networks as easily (assuming they're even able to break lengthy contracts).
I think it's more likely that the Big Ten throws a ridiculous amount of money at them to join. If they don't join, then I could see the other conferences doing anything they could to lessen Notre Dame's competitive edge, whether that be posturing for NCAA/NIL rules changes aimed at hurting them or not allowing their members to schedule them.

1. All these teams conference dancing and the independent team wins it all
2. Notre Dame doesnt have to share the $$$ with anyone, and keeps the whole pie
3. Notre Dame getting their (unofficial) automatic bid into the playoffs every year and wining the first year, gonna make other teams want to remove their (unofficial) automatic bid. -- Granted, they earned their bid this year --
4. Puts the fire our of the SEC vs Big 10 is top dog conversation.

I don't think I've ever rooted for ND to win anything. I want them to lose everything.
Edit: I take that back. I was rooting for Digger's team to end UCLA's 88 game winning streak back in the early '74.
