NFL Playoff Predictions
#1
Who do we all have?

I'll share my picks shortly. Would think that we'll see a lot of Buffalo, Baltimore, Kansas City, Detroit, and Philadelphia-heavy projections. If you want to make it interesting, give us your upset lock.

In the first round I like three road teams, Minnesota, Washington and the LA Chargers. Denver is a nice story, but they’re not winning at Buffalo, Green Bay hasn’t beaten anyone good, they aren’t winning in Philly, and although any Baltimore-Pittsburgh game is interesting and the Steelers have had great success against Lamar, these are just two teams heading in completely different directions, Baltimore wins.

In the divisional round, I’ll take Detroit over Washington and Philly over Minnesota in the NFC. The chaos I think comes from the AFC, where Baltimore goes into Buffalo and wins and, hold onto your hats, the Chargers win in Kansas City. One of these years the fact that the Chiefs just ain’t that damn good is gonna have to catch up with them isn’t it?

I’ll take Detroit over Philly in the NFC championship game, making their first-ever Super Bowl, and I’ll take Baltimore in a blowout over the Chargers in the AFC. Then I’ll take Baltimore 31-29 over Detroit in an excellent Super Bowl, as Lamar, who is just a fabulous player, gets his first ring. Now you all don’t even have to watch the games, since you know how they’ll play out.??

I am for anyone but the Chiefs, Ravens, and Steelers lol
I would like to see the Lions finally get them one or Josh Allen and the Bills.
I'm gonna go with Lions/Bills in Super Bowl with the Lions edging out the Bills.

I'd love see the Lions and Bills in the Super Bowl.  I know Detroit has a lot of injuries but guys keep stepping up for them.  They have this special energy going.  Buffalo,  be nice to see them win the AFC.  Get revenge from the over time loss to KC,  a few years.  Everyone pretty much knew who ever got the coin toss,  would likely win.

In the AFC I think you have KC,  Buffalo,  and Baltimore as the favorites.

NFC you got Detroit,  Philly,  and I still wouldn't count Minnesota out yet.

Washington is a cool story this year.  I hope they do well in the playoffs.

Liked Detroit and Baltimore or Buffalo making it to the Super Bowl coming into the season.

NFC:
As King Kong said, Detroit is pretty banged up but finds a way to keep winning. It doesn't seem sustainable to play this well despite so many injuries to key players piling up, so I think their luck will run out. If not Detroit, the obvious pick in the NFC is Philadelphia.

I'm not sold on Minnesota because Darnold is so prone to having terrible games. Green Bay is always interesting, but they haven't beaten anyone good this season-- if you don't believe me, go through their schedule and give me their biggest win. Tampa Bay and Los Angeles don't have a body of work that makes you confident in picking them to win more than a game or two. Washington is interesting but I don't think you can trust a rookie QB at this point in the season, much less one on a team as terrible as they were last season.

AFC:
We thought Kansas City was going to get beat in the Wild Card Round last season, now they're a favorite (of the refs and networks at least). Can't count them out and it's huge for them to have Buffalo and Baltimore on the other side of the bracket, but I think someone gets them.

Buffalo takes care of the ball really well and will be at home, so I think that this is the year they get back to the Super Bowl. Baltimore has had a tendency to play down to their competition this season, and while they have some bad losses (Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas), no one has blown them out.

Wild Card:

Bills over Broncos--
Denver won't be bothered by the weather and will keep it close for awhile.

Ravens over Steelers--
B'more should cover the spread and put this one away shortly after the half, if not sooner.

Texans over Chargers--
Bolts are as banged up at RB as Houston is at WR (Diggs & Dell); picking an upset here on the hope that the Texans' D is able to carry them at home. Really going with my heart and not my head on this one.

Eagles over Packers--
Dangerous to pick against the Packers, who keep proving people wrong early in the playoffs, but this one just feels different.

Buccaneers over Commanders--
I'll buck the trendy upset pick here.

Rams over Vikings--
Looks like this is picking up steam as an upset pick after the Vikings looked so bad in prime time. Think it will be close either way.

From there, I'd have chalk conference championships with Philadelphia at Detroit and Buffalo at Kansas City. Will go with Philadelphia and Buffalo in the Super Bowl, but only because the Lions are so banged up. If Kansas City advances, I'll be rooting against them against almost any opponent (like those not named Pittsburgh).

Well said CJ.  You reminded me that the Vikings have to play the Rams.  The Rams are a scary matchup.  Not for certain but I think maybe the Vikings lost to the Rams earlier this year.  Idk but the Rams are tough in the playoffs.

I'm like the consensus on here, would love to see a Lions-Bills Super Bowl. Can you imagine Bills mafia and the Lions fanbase congregating for a Super Bowl? Absolute chaos, plus 2 great teams that are so hungry to win a ring.

As for my predictions which I am sure will be 100% wrong come game times, goes as follows.

AFC

5 Chargers over 4 Texans.
As good a story Houston was last year w/ a rookie QB & Rookie HC, teams around the league had plenty enough tape to figure out Stroud, injuries to key playmakers such as Nico Collins, Tank Dell & Diggs both out for the season didn't help anything.

Chargers are really clicking, as much heat as the guy gets or has gotten, Harbaugh is just a damn good football coach, no matter where he goes. Having a QB like Herbert is definitely an advantage, but Harbaugh style is smashmouth run game and stout defense, but throw in a QB like Herbert who can make any throw on the field, a great recipe for success.

3 Ravens over 6 Steelers
Steelers are limping into the Tournament losers of 4 in a row. Wasn't t hat long ago they were at 10-3, possible contention for as high as the 2 seed, then the rails completely came off. The Russell Wilson experience has been as up & down as most would expect this season, they still have an elite defense, but they won't have enough offense to keep up.

Ravens have to be big favorites going into this one, have the MVP frontrunner in Lamar, Derrick Henry who has rejuvenated his career, only concern would be the status of star wideout Zay Flowers who went down with a knee in the final week, haven't heard anything about his status as of yet, but Baltimore still has enough playmakers to win this one easily.

2 Bills over 7 Broncos
Rusell Wilson experience sure didn't pan out in Denver, but Bo Nix sure has. A great season for the rookie QB under the tutelage of Sean Payton. Denver, like Pittsburgh has an elite defense, but they've got enough to get things done offensively, great receivers and a complementary run game to go with it.

But Buffalo just seems to be on a mission, having the other MVP frontrunner in Josh Allen, who has carried this team to the 2 seed. They have a solid, yet inconsistent defense who gave up back to back 40 point games recently, but have enough playmakers on both sides. Think Denver can keep it closer than some think, but Buffalo prevails in this one.

NFC

4 Rams over 5 Vikings
Think the Rams enter the Tournament in better shape than the Vikings. They may have lost to Seattle week 18, but they already clinched a playoff spot a few weeks back, so getting rest for Stafford, and the rest of the starters will be a big advantage, as Minnesota had to play their starters against Detroit. Rams have definitely used the draft picks they've finally accumulated through trades, and they've stockpiled some great young talent on the defensive side that I think will be the difference. With Stafford, and healthy Cooper Kupp & Puka, I think the Rams pull this one out.

Minnesota had to exert a lot of energy & effort against Detroit, only to lose by 22 points, lose the division, and a shot at the 1 seed. As great a season as they had, I think Detroit exposed them a lot especially on offense, that defensive front brought a ton of pressures & blitzes on Darnold, and he isn't comfortable having to get out of the pocket and it made a big difference. Minnesota has a great defense as well, but I just think the Rams will be able to make a few more plays and also could be one of those games who has the ball last wins.

3 Buccaneers over 6 Commanders
This one could go either way, both teams are playing great right now in every aspect. Liam Coen has resurrected Baker Mayfield, even tho he was great last season, seems like his play has went to another level this season. Even with so much injuries to playmakers, they've still found a way to get to this point and win the division, also helps to have Mike Evans back, sure fire HOF when he's done.

Washington is still playing good as well, but I just have a feeling Tampa defense especially with Vea will shut down the dual threat playmaking of Daniels, who has had an incredible rookie season.

2 Eagles over 7 Packers
I am honestly rooting for Green Bay in this one, but going on the road in a hostile environment in Philly may just to prove to be too much for Green Bay, injuries at the receiver spot with Watson, and Romeo Doubs hasn't been healthy all season either. Also have to take into consideration that Hurts is still in concussion protocol the last I seen, but Philly has the best O-line and the best RB in the game, so they will do everything to assert their will and wear down that GB front line, should be a fun game to watch but Philly prevails.

I'll pick my divisional round games after the wildcard weekend wraps up.
