Paintsville 63 Belfry 58 All A
#1
Belfry played well. Paintsville may be the best team in the region. At least in the conversation. Belfry lost this game by 25 less than three weeks ago. Belfry has definitely improved. Think they have  an identity now and kids know their roles to win.

Watched this one. Belfry went from up 8-4 to down 24-8 I believe. Obviously if not for that they win. Both teams looked good at times and sloppy at times.

Tigers got it done but it was a ugly win. Belfry did a real good job at limiting Cole and Woods scoring and rebounding out of the zone they ran. Kinner came up big and made big plays all game. This team is very unselfish and moves the ball well. Had 4 in double digits this game, even when it wasn’t a good offensive game for paintsville they still found a way to get buckets when needed. Paintsville has a good shot at winning the All A if they play how they can.

In the halfcourt set Paintsville dominated.  They have great size and are well coached.  Belfry sped it up to their advantage after the first half and closed the gap, but it was too late and may not have mattered anyway.

Paintsville is going to be a tough out for anybody in the region.  Their bigs are skilled, tough and just know how to play.  Guards are solid as well, but their frontcourt is going to be tough for anyone in the 15th to deal with.

Paintsville looked good. But still not within 15 points of Martin or Pikeville.

Paintsville frontcourt is the best in the region and it’s not close. And it’s 2 sophomores. I’d still pick Martin but Paintsville is the 2nd best team to me.

That is insane to even say. Pikeville lost to Pike Central.. And Martin lost to A Perry County team that Belfry beat. Did Paintsville play even close to their potential tonight? No. They still grinded it out and won though. It’s safe to say Paintsville has the best sophomore core in the region and will run the region the next 2 years.

Paintsville has two very good bigs that will be hard to guard by most teams in the region. They are big but can spread the court and hit jumpers but also bang down low. I had never watched either team play before tonight, but those two definitely caught my eye watching the game. Belfry has a lot of good guard play but can't beat and bang with teams down low. The #4 for Belfry is a stretch 4 having to play center where he ain't comfortable with.

How is it that Belfry lost arguably one of their better players from the first matchup and closed the gap by 20 points?

Ever play a game at Paintsville?   That’s toughest place to play anywhere in region and not even debatable.  When things go bad there it snowballs quickly.

Belfry has got better since that game. They do played very hard. The first game Paintsville couldn’t miss. They didn’t shoot as well last night but not terrible. Belfry would get it down to 5 a few times and Paintsville would knock a 3. Belfry had a chance to win this game in the 4th quarter and just couldn’t get a couple more stops.

All of the sudden Paintsville has the best front court in the region and it ain't close, it's the hardest place to play and it's not debatable, and they will control the region for the next 2 years at least. Not to mention Belfry is suddenly 30 points better after losing arguably their best player. lol

Belfry played well but no way paintsville is the best team in the region. Have you seen pikeville, pike central, or Martin co play? I will say paintsville has looked good but they are still at best number 4. No doubt

I think Paintsville is the 2nd best team behind Martin County. Their 2 bigs will be hard to handle for anyone. Cole and Woods.

Paintsville will have to play better to win the all a. I think valley will beat them next game Martin and pikeville will be a war and I believe the winner of that game will be your all a champs

Does anyone have brackets/dates for all A? I haven't seen one anywhere.

Does the Woods kid play any other sport? He looks like he’d be a heck of a football player with his size and athleticism

No Sir. There’s rumors he may come out for football though

He would be a monster of a tackle or even line him up at tight end. That’d be scary but it all depends if he can take the hit with the aggressiveness.

Same thing was said last year and Magoffin ended up winning it all.

People gonna learn one of these days to quit playing games on paper. Everyone said after the season was over last year that Johnson Central was gonna run the region the next 3 years. That’s not looking very good for this season so far.
