Close on the heels of doubling the national EV charging network since 2021, the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation today celebrates reaching 200,000 public charging ports available nationwide. Convenient and reliable EV charging options in all 50 states are providing more people than ever with the freedom to travel using electric mobility. The national network is well ahead of schedule to meet a national goal of 500,000 chargers by 2030.

The $7.5 billion figure refers to the total amount allocated through the 2021 law to build a network of charging stations across the U.S., not the amount that has already been spent. There are currently 214 operational chargers in 12 states that have been funded through the law, with 24,800 projects underway across the country, according to the Federal Highway Administration.

The 200,000 bumper includes privately and publicly funded chargers. So 214 publicly funded chargers out of more than 200,000 total. That changes everything.

Wasn't the private EV Chargers supported with federal tax subsidies.
Even mooch Elon capitalized on the government handout.

Anyone knows the Federal government doesn't actually build the EV Chargers they award tax subsidies or tax credits to private companies. Just like defense contractors or any private business they get handouts from the government.

Anyone knows the Federal government doesn't actually build the EV Chargers they award tax subsidies or tax credits to private companies. Just like defense contractors or any private business they get handouts from the government.

As I'm sure you know, the government does hand out money to people who do no work, even illegal aliens are on the dole.

But the government hires contractors to make things because it is far more efficient and cheaper than having government employees do the work. It is also very difficult to fire federal workers who are deadbeats, thanks mostly to liberal Democrats who have unionized many employees.
