What publication or group is these teams from and voted on by who? I've seen the CJ and Lexington Hearld and both are completely different than these lists.

Jax Niece is definitely one of the top RB in the state. For him to not even be honorable mention is crazy. Class 3A District 8 player of the year.

He had 39 yards against Belfry. Great kid, good player. Not even close to best player in the district.

Am I missing something or did Clay Hayden really not make this list?

You are not crazy ... but apparently there are quite a few crazy people who participates in this process.

Between Clay Hayden, James Cusick, Chase Flaherty, Luke Erdman and quite a handful of Red and White Tigers it sure makes a person wonder who is crazy and who isn't.

And look ... I get it ... not all those guys would make it in a perfect world. My argument here is that all the players I mentioned had their best games against the toughest teams on their schedule. They won a state championship. Beechwood limits touches significantly against the teams that are still trying to figure things out.

What is the alternative? Keeping starters in to inflate stats? At the end of the day, there are some great players on this list and the other lists. Just doesn't make a ton of sense that there are quite a few names that played against Beechwood ... and didn't rise to the occasion like the Beechwood players did against them.

I am sure the guys I mentioned are more satisfied with a state championship ... but at the end of the day it takes away credibility from the state as a whole when the process is more about voting "en-bloc" for specific areas ... or your coaching buddies players.

Congratulations to all the players who made it .. and to those that didn't ... looking forward to next season!
