Final from LC.

That’s a convincing win against a good ball team on the road. Lawrence will be fine. But Pikeville is impressive so far.
Lawrence cheated the crap out of them to keep it that close. It still would’ve been worse if number 3 for LC hadn’t went off for 4 straight threes in the first quarter. I will say that the Pikeville fans whining about calls with the game well out of hand looked a little soft. The calls were bad, but you’re up 20 with little time left for a comeback. You’re on the road. Bad calls happen, just shake your head and move on at that point.
Pikeville definitely looking like the best team in the 15th right now. I don’t see how it would be any different in a couple of months. Lawrence cannot beat them unless the Panthers have a very bad game and the Bulldogs are hot. The best chance for LC is to get on the other side of the bracket and hope Martin or someone else beats Pikeville. Dominating performance by the Panthers tonight.

Great win by the Panthers. Excited to see them matchup against Martin Co on Saturday.

It was a butt kicking for sure. Didn’t think we were gonna go undefeated so dust yourself off and be ready Saturday for Belfry. Pikeville is a really good team. Size and their zone was a big factor. LC couldn’t throw it in the ocean in the second quarter and couldn’t get in there press. I agree there was some questionable calls coming from one ref but that’s life on the road. We’ll definitely learn from that game.

Pikeville will have to hold MC to under 75 to win. I know that sounds really easy but MC can absolutely score it well. Pikeville has a big advantage though over the poor defensive matchup from MC. This game will be in the 80’s.

Lc has to get woods the ball more and run more sets for him. Perry seemed lost tonight and we need him to beat good teams. It’s just one game though and hopefully we will have it figured out by Saturday.

Don't think Pikeville fans were soft it was just blatant over the top cheating. Didn't try to hide it in the least. 10x worse than the usual bad road whistle or three.

I'll have to say this is surprising, not the fact that Pikeville won, but the fact that they won so convincingly. Like someone said already, we will see what Pikeville is made of this weekend when they play Martin Co.
I said in pre-season that Lawrence would be the favorite to win the 58th, I still think that, but the margin may be a little closer than most think. I know they already beat BL pretty handily, but the Bobcats have proven they can hang with the top teams in the region/surrounding areas.

I turned this one on at 730 and think it may have started earlier on NFHS. And was watching both this game and PCC/BL
Lawrence lacked ball movement and hitting that extra pass, way too much 1v1 iso against the zone. Seemed to go in and force shots and prayed they went in. Pikeville makes correct plays every trip and looked so much more organized.
Lawrence has to turnover and speed up other teams to be successful, they were leading after one, what got them out to that good start? Pikeville bigger guards didn’t allow them to do that.
Pikeville shot the lights out of the gym in a place most teams don’t shoot it well. They looked poised and showed they are team to beat in the 15th.
How long is Cole Slone out, when he gets back where is he going to fit in. Does he start?
Lawrence looks like they have zero size, and didn’t rebound. That has to get fixed along with half-court offense. They to have shooters on the floor to open driving lanes. It seemed at times had one or two shooters who were ones attacking basket, and three others who struggle to score and allowed pikeville zone to be even more effective. But when Lawrence attacks they have to look to kick out and get open looks instead of hoping prayers get answered or whistle bails them out.
Martin vs Pikeville Saturday should be interesting but I wouldn’t be surprised with a double digit Pikeville win. Their zone covers floor well and requires ball to move. Martin has to pass up early threes to get better looks. Davis and Estes must have a big game for Martin to have a chance by making shots.

I didn't realize that Lawrence was a young as they are this year. They are basically playing 4 juniors and 3 sophomores this year. I knew JC and Paintsville were still going to be young, but I didn't realize that was true for Lawrence.
Regardless this is a very impressive win for Pikeville. To go on the road early in the season and flat out dominate a solid Lawrence team. I thought Pikeville would take a small step back this year with all that they lost (or even just start slower as these kids started to gel) but no they just reload year after year. Jackson Keene transferring has helped a lot too on the interior. The game against Martin will tell us a lot.

The stats on this one were crazy. Lawrence didn’t throw it in ocean, all to pikeville credit as they didn’t take good shots all night and Pikeville shot it really well.

They are many of young teams
