Lawrence County at Betsy Layne

Who wins this one

Three questions for LC in this one

1. Will they be able to rebound
2. can they turn over the backcourt of Betsy layne
3. Can they get stops in halfcourt

I usually don’t think how game is called is a big deal but this could be a difference. If it’s physical I like BL the tighter it’s called I think LC has advantage based on depth.

Both teams seem to want to play a similar style by pressing and getting up and down. Will last nights game hurt LC alittle more with tired legs in week one. This is the third game this week, and back to back nights. Where BL off yesterday.

I watched BL beat Central and they took care of ball and made open shoots. Does LC pressure allow them to do that. Same recipe for success has to goal for tonight.

Outside of each teams top three (Woods, Perry, Harris for LC, Puente, Parson, Allan for BL) who will have that player step up and make a couple plays decides this one.

Hall hit some big shots for BL on Wednesday.

I like BL by 6 in a high scoring game 76-70.

I think Lawrence county has more depth and foul trouble could be a huge factor. Major game that decides how the rest of the season can go

Dont get me wrong, Lawrence is solid but Betsy Layne is just on a different level right now.

WPRG or D&D have this one? Anyone know?

I think I saw where WPRG will be live. This will be a good game. I think it is early though for a big district game. I don’t think I would like playing a big game so early that has a lot such as seeding riding on it. But good luck to both teams and hopefully everyone comes out injury free.

I believe I saw where Lawrence plays Pikeville next too. Back to back big games for them

If the panthers play like they did last night they should roll. LC could shock some people though.

LC 80, BL 71. Final. LC led by as many as 15 and hit their FTs late to seal the win.

Same way over here at FC.

Caught this one on WPRG.

Lawrence looked really good last night. This game was never really close. Seemed every time BL would get within striking distance LC scores 7 or eight straight.

I thought LC role players were wonderful. 23 esp early, and 0 made huge plays late and was difference in this one.

Lawrence is real deal, if they ever get ball movement going they could be very dangerous. Sometimes seems ball doesn’t reverse as needed. But Thompson will get that fixed. 4 was a nice addition but forces some shots going to rim. LC has shooters everywhere and missed some looks because ball movement wasn’t there yet.

Is Thompson the best coach in region?

Heard Lawrence turned over BL 22 times. Their pressure is really good. 5 for them might be best defender in region. Remember BL has one of best and most experienced backcourts in region. And still turned them over that much

BL press didn’t affect LC at all. LC has a stable of 8 guards who can handle ball.

As far as BL. Why didn’t Allen play second half unless I missed him somehow.

24 is a good looking eighth grader, and has a very bright future. LC just went after him 2nd half whoever he seemed to guard took him off dribble. Hard to match up giving 2-4 years of age. He will get it figured out.

I thought Parsons played well. Same for Hall. But others were a non factor.

That was a big district game for week one though. Maybe BL youth will figure it out, but LC looks to be top in this district.

Lawrence schedule doesn’t get any better with a matchup with Pikeville next. Think currently that’s 2/3 in region and both teams have a shot at Rupp.

Lawrence has shown they can score and has 80 points in all three games this week.

BL needed Allen. He went down with injury in 2nd. The game was never a blow out. LC is a good team. Definitely gonna be a team to reckon with in the 15.

On to the next one!

I thought Lawrence County’s pressure and the way they handled BL’s press was the difference in the game. If you try and play uptempo with LC you better be deep and in shape because they are. If LC hadn’t went cold and started forcing 3’s for a stretch in the 2nd quarter it could have been much worse. I haven’t seen much of Floyd County Superstar on here much lately going on about Mike. Chandler gave him a lesson last night.
