This was Coach Clevenger's second season at Somerset, not his first.
2023: 10-4 District and Regional Champions
2024: 9-5 District and Regional Champions

Thanks for the correction… great start regardless… are they getting closer to the finals return? How does the incoming talent from the junior high ranks look???

Jumpers are going to be very good, I think the biggest question mark for this team is who replaces Bruner? Does Clevinger go under center and put both Hughes and Cimala in the backfield?

Somerset does make the move from district 6 to district 3, which puts them in western part of 2A. Which means they’ll likely see Mayfield, Owensboro Catholic or LCA in regional championship round of the playoffs.

Their road to state gets A LOT harder by moving into the western regions in the new realignment. They return their key weapons in Hughes and #6, but they lose a great QB and a great MLB to graduation that they’ll need to replace. I see them playing in round 3 next year but would be pleasantly surprised if they make it farther. I like Clevinger. He’s a great coach.

Any thoughts on Clevenger moving to other pastures? I'm sure Owensboro is a very desirable job for a guy that wins where ever he goes. 2a will be miserable the next 2 years. Very deep class and with Pulaski on the rise for players, it may be tough getting a team to compete with the big dogs of 2a.

He has a cabin in Pulaski has had for years he is a big lake guy. So no I don’t see him leaving anytime soon his boys are in the middle school system in what is argubily the best group from 6 to 8th grade to ever come through the Somerset program as a whole. Going forward the next 6 years Somerset is going to be in the hunt.

Anyone see anything news worthy on the schedule for 2025?

I know most teams are a two year home and away deal. Clevenger had scheduled Perry Central, Lincoln, Russell, Campbellsville, Knox Central, Garrard and Glasgow the past two seasons and their district schedule changes.

Will it be an entirely new schedule? Does any of the teams they played stay on the schedule?

Somerset has a ton of talent coming up. Bright future for them in the coming years.
