16th Region Sleeper Teams???
#1
Are there any teams that can challenge Ashland and Boyd Co.?

When was Rowan Co.'s last region championship? Is this the year they win one?

Fleming Co. should be very good, can they get it done?

Same story again. Boyd may beat ashland in regular season but when it matters ashland gets it done. Ashland imo is a top 5 team in the state. They only lost a few players and return majority of their team and got some key transfers like Preston Hoskins and Elijah Neel. They lost by 2 to Lyon County in the state tournament who won state and now they are even better. They have a chance to win state if everything goes right for them. This is a very good basketball team.

Rowan has one of the best coaches in region and would be a terrible draw for most in morehead.  They have been known to slow pace and ground out games.

Lewis should be a little better if they can find a guard to get offense going.   They have size, not sure on depth.

Elliott is getting a year older, but still maybe a year away from a run to Morehead.

Anyone know what Bath has this season, Perry has always been a wildcard.

62nd district will be physical and battles every night.

Ashland and Boyd will battle it out in 64th,   Spurlock or Carter in pressure games who you have?

Sleeper teams? Fleming, Russell, and Lewis.

Everyone in the state of KY knows APB recruits (audio and now video currently) and especially the surrounding schools in the tri-state area and 16th Region. That is not breaking news...what a joke!

The real question everyone wants to know! Could APB have enough kids to even suit up a team if you placed the students back in the school in which they actually live. I am going to say it takes 5 to start a game and they would be a few kids short to even start a game if so!

We calling them transfers LOL. The word is that one of those is currently ineligible determined by the Khsaa. Fanman may have some insight. He is super close to the coaches, parents and the programs of APB and BC it looks like. LOL

I know they graduated 2 or 3 contributors, but wasn't aware of any transfers. That whole 63rd district should be up for grabs.

Greenup is gonna be very down this year don’t know how well they can compete

Rowan County is expected to have a down year I believe. Don’t have much talent as they did in these past years. Fleming County will give each and every team a run for their money. Hickerson is one of the best pure scorers I have witnessed. That team is the most complete team in the region. A sleeper team I believe would be the winner of the 63rd. The 63rd is always gonna 63rd. I’m leaning towards the Rams to bring it hope for the first time in 6 years. Lead by Senior Connor Thacker, this team can make some noise in the region tournament. This team can shoot the cover off the ball.

The more I hear about and see the Rams play basketball the more I see this team pulling off an upset in the 16th region tournament. I really believe if Waller and Arnett can facilitate the offense and provide scoring the Rams are the best team in the 63rd and that’s not a debate.

I went to a couple games last year and there was a player I seen on the bench last year and that’s Brody Bradshaw but I think he can be a big impact to this team every knows qb1 Jake Waller and Arnett but not Brody he’s got so much more talented then those guys he just couldn’t show anyone because he was on the bench so much but now I think he will be the reason they make it all the way

The 16th is always super competitive in the middle of the pack. Teams like Raceland,Rowan,Russell, and Greenup are always neck and neck with each other. The top is the top APB,BC, and one other whether it’s Fleming or the team that escapes the 63rd are separated by a wide margin every year. APB and BC dominate this region and that’s just how it is and probably always will be. However there are some very young teams like Russell and Raceland that if developed the right way can take the crown for a year or 2. Fleming is legit this year and may very well win this region if they are hot and APB is not. Raceland features a junior/sophomore heavy team that goes the same for the Devils up the hill from them. I see the Rams possibly making a small splash this year and possibly a HUGE splash next year. They will win and lose games based of what Connor Thacker they get on each game day. I’d look to see them try to run the team through sophomore Jake Waller, he’s an intelligent young man on and off the court. Arnett is one of if not the best on ball defender in the 16th so if he can lock up the teams #1 then thing get scary for the opposition.
