No doubt the better team won.Well for sure the best team last night won, right? But,,, but,,, TILGHMAN ain’t played nobody, the weak schedule is gonn catch up with them,, right? I can see Boyle county’s fans position, been there, where 1 call at the end of the game decides the game 1 way or the other ( mayfield vs somerset in state championship). I watched this game on tv, wasn’t there personally, but from my perspective, corbin was very good, especially the QB, he’s a beast, and looked to me Corbin’s speed was pretty close to PT’s, at first. I think PT’s speed eventually wore down corbin, and the corbin coaches didn’t do a good job adjusting to what PT was doing. I agree that the middle of the defense was open for the corbin QB to take advantage of but to his credit he was running for his life most the night. I thought late in the game corbin played undisiplined football. From my perspective it was clear who the best team was. IF , and there’s that IF, they played 10 times, on a neutral field, corbin would win 5 of those.JMO

Corbin was down to 1a Hazard at halftime. I think outside of Boyle, PT has the most potent offense in the state. No one outside of corbin thought that corbin was going to travel across the state and be in this game. No disrespect PT was just the favorite.

I thought Corbin was the better team in the first half but Tighlman’s D-line dominated Corbin’s O-line in the second half and left no doubt about the outcome, Congrats Tighlman!!!

Well it seems we cant ever have a discussion n here without everything headed off the rails, but I will add my assessment-
First congrats to Corbin for a great season, they are a big, strong, hard-nosed bunch with surprising team speed. Kade Elam is as advertised and I see great things in his future.
On to the game- the script basically flipped at halftime. At first Corbin was blitzing and PT was not picking it up nor adjusting for it resulting in James either scrambling with no time to throw or getting sacked. I am 100% sure he was rushed more last night than the total times he was pressured all year. This pressure had him off his game and it seemed he didn't quite find his "touch" until late in the half.
In the second half PT made the adjustments and used Corbins bull rush against them by hitting screens and quick hitters. Whenever they backed off that it gave James time to hit more deep routes. Defensively in the second half PT felt comfortable enough to have single coverage over the top and send everyone else. PT"s constant speed and pressure had Elam scrambling the whole second half and had a hard time throwing anything other than a sideline pass. Everyone has heard all year about our offense, now they know what our defense is made of speed, grit, strength and determination.
As far as the officiating went- were they flag happy? possibly but they sure didn't mind throwing them both ways. It was a VERY high-strung emotional game and several players were really feeling it. Those constant offsetting calls on the WR/DB were annoying, both players were going at it hard and the ref should have just told them both to cut it out. It was pointless to just keep stopping the game for no reasonable outcome. A majority of Corbins holding calls came in the second half when PT was sending 7 and being blocked by 5. If the coach doesn't adjust for that-its bound to happen. PT was getting plenty of PI calls when the WR and DB were hand fighting the whole game.Towards the end and those Personal fouls, I get it, its an emotional thing when you see your season coming to an end, no coach supports that but sometimes it happens. There was plenty of chirping happening and both teams had a chip on their shoulder to prove what they were about.
I was pleased to see our guys come out and fight for the win, we have heard all year how we were not good enough, we played a soft schedule, we would get ran off the field, we wouldn't fare well once we got hit in the mouth. Well our guys did. They proved they can take a punch and deliver a blow back.
PT continues to prove what they can do on the field.
Congrats to Corbin for a great season.

I hate to even smack talk about Boyle because their fans on here have been top notch, but they won’t have the opportunity to beat PT by 4+ scores. They’ll be watching from the stands just like you. Corbin had their shot. Couldn’t pull it off. The refs did not win this game for PT, and this game could’ve been a lot worse. Corbin had to battle field position all night with terrible punts. Congrats to Paducah Tilghman, games over bickering back and forth isn’t gonna change the outcome…That being said I thought all post season refs have been making themselves part of the game a lot more than they should be….Not every penalty deserves a flag for example if a receiver had no chance to catch a ball does it really deserve a pass interference flag? This is not a shot at last nights crew, just an observation from the many playoff games I’ve seen so far this season….Good Luck to PT going forward….

Tilghman had too much quickness at a number of positions. Speed kills and they had some kids with track speed.
Kind of predictable result given that throughout history, Corbin is winless in buss down games away from Campbell Field. Elite teams have kids at skill positions who run by them.

If he chose 2/3 options, this isn’t even a thread. this is not a conversation about who could or could not beat boyle, cause they got beat for their first time in 4 years.I agree that Corbin got out schemed and outcoached. This as a winnable game before it turned into flag football. Completely swung the momentum to the home team.
The conversation is PT butchered that Corbin Oline due to scheme. Send 7 guys, only 5 to block. Math is math people. Corbin could’ve thrown it across the middle 1 time in the fourth quarter and moved the ball but chose to throw down the sideline 50 yards every time. They hit cima one time over the middle for 15 yards, never again. When both linebackers and an end blitz, the middle of the field on short passes are open. They did it on 3 straight fourth quarter drives, never crossed the PT 40. That’s why the lead went from 3, to 10, to 17. They were outschemed in the second half never made one adjustment period. Did the speed in the back end help for PT, Yes, but Corbin proved they could still be productive moving the ball. But like i said, MATH IS MATH. 7 is greater than 5.

Not playing the rpi game correctly has cost the Hounds two years in a row. A win over a North Laurel instead of a loss to Fred Douglass would have meant last night's game would have been played just outside Old School's backyard, instead of five hours away. I hope that, unlike the evil Tommy Greer, coach Salmons will give considerable attention to the RPI when scheduling. It often is the difference between a third or fourth round game being at Campbell Field or on the road. Schedule some good 4, 5, and 6A teams that will win a lot of games but teams that you know with 95-99% confidence you will beat. No more Hazards or Freddie D's. That's a recipe for ending your season in Danville or Paducah.

Corbin fans definitely had a beef with officials. It's a good thing those stripes got out of there. I know several hardcore Corbin fans(won't name them here) that would have gladly gone to the pokey to get a hold of those bought and paid for zebras. Btw, Old School isn't one of them. I'm not going to the pokey over a game, but I definitely know some who were there that definitely would.
PT actually kicked off from the Corbin 30 late in the game, after three or four flags called within seconds of each other. Has anyone ever seen that at any level of football? Of course you haven't. Salmons should have pulled his team off the field with five minutes left, in protest, and boarded the buses. It was an outrageous spectacle of grotesque mischief by those scoundrels in stripes.

That kickoff at the 30 was after the referees flagged Corbin for Unsportsmanlike conduct for repeated chirping at the referees in the endzone. Those penalties are compounded, resulting in the short kickoff. Watch the film at PTs last touchdown (515 mark) and you can see it building, the refs threw the flags and actually sent two guys to the sideline (was there an official ejection?) it seemed those two were still adding comments resulting in the next set of flags and penalty.

They could play 10 times and Cover Cath still runs them over so you don’t need to combine all those teams to beat Boyle, just Cov Cath. Who cares if Boyle could or would in some fantasy world beat anyone because it’s Paducah vs Franklin for the title, that’s all that matters. Congrats to both on getting there!
As for Corbin, I thought the offense got exposed/out coached in second half and failed to make adjustments to the ever increasing pass rush of Paducah. Corbin decided they were going to try to block 6-7 rushers with just 5 lineman while running deep routes and either motioning the rb out or a swing route by the RB over and over. That worked first half because of Elam’s legs and his phenomenal performance running. Paducah just kept bringing more rushers in the second half until they could finally bottle Elam up. Officiating seemed balanced to me, I’d have to see yardage totals but it’s probably close if you remove the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties at the end by Corbin. All of the holds on Corbin were the product of them asking 5 guys to continually block 6-7 combined with the QB scrambling. Paducah stacked the box and forced Corbin to try to beat them with screens, quick passing game or some form of the run game and Corbin couldn’t do it and/or didn’t have the play calling to do it. Their screens were effective and they went away from them when they needed it most. I was also surprised Corbin gave up so early, 5:30 to go in the game and you throw the towel in??
As for the season, I think Corbin had a great year and should be proud and not let anyone diminish what they accomplished. Salmons should be commended, him and his team outperformed expectations of most, especially the same people who will pretend this season was a bust.

Refs didn’t win this game, Paducah defense did. They adjusted and Corbin didn’t score in the second half.
I think Paducah will beat Franklin by 2+ TDs and it would not surprise me if they don’t win by 4tds
I agree wholeheartedly that Corbin didn't make necessary adjustments and PT did. This is the second striaght year it has ended similarly . Last season, 14-14 at halftime. Corbin fails to score in the second half, losing 21-14. This year, leading 14-10 at halftime, fails to score in the second half. Poor second half coaching, especially with lack of adjustments on offense. Now that Kid Elam is moving on to play shortstop. I hope the Bart Elam era is coming to an end, as well. He just hasn't been good enough in these winnable season ending games. I'm ready for him to be gone.

Who cares if Boyle could or would in some fantasy world beat anyone because it’s Paducah vs Franklin for the title, that’s all that matters. Congrats to both on getting there! It’s hard to make adjustments on the “players” they were against. Buy stock in icy hot, that side judge gonna have tennis elbow. But PT won at the end of the day. Didn’t have much against PT, but after what I witnessed tonight I hope they get their sh!t stomped in.

They are right up there with Johnson Central(and their ass fans) in my book. Tilghman's clearly not a very classy bunch, either. Have you ever in your life seen(at any level) a team kick off from the opposing team's 30 yard line after three straight penalties called right in succession? Ridiculous.

Who died and made you a moderator? Boyle's better than Corbin and Paducah 's combined talent.
That kickoff was due to a couple of Corbin players having a complete meltdown. After an offside penalty on PT extra point, the reality hit them they were done. They kept mouthing flag after flag after flag and wouldn't shut up. Two of them completely lost their composure. Slamming their helmets on the sideline and crying on the coach's shoulder once they were removed from the field. Everyone understand the emotions of a players' last game but don't act like it was on the officials or that it was "ridiculous". It's all on video to see but keep making up your own narrative.

My narrative says those stripes were involved in some grotesque mischief all damn night long. With over 20 flags against the visiting team , it was only a matter of time before everything went completely to hell. Again, Salmons & players should have boarded the buses and left town at the five minute mark. No need in allowing that spectacle to continue. I will get out of a wheelchair and crawl to Campbell Field, if necessary, if those Paducah Blue Sky ever have to show up at Campbell Field and play. I've talked to some Corbin fans that made the trip out west. They are not gonna soon forget this one.

Those officials are a lot closer to you than us. It’s pointless to whine about a few players getting flags for throwing temper tantrums.

Last rant on this post!! What’s done is done, but I guarantee you 1-6a if they come to Paducah I promise you that PT would win. With the help they had Friday night!!

From a neutral standpoint, about 2 or 3 of you make it very hard to ever root for Corbin. I'm sure your fanbase would rather not have your representation. I was actually pulling for Corbin, can't say I'll ever do it again.
I'll have plenty more later to prove what "grotesque mischief" must go through the mind of one OLD S#%& Hound, and the degree of his delusional perspective. It's both comical and sad.
