How about those Rams!!

Hazard D kept them in the game for the first half but when you get absolutely no help from your offense. It’s hard to keep it going. Raceland looked pretty good. I’m gonna say they’ll be your new 1A champs.

This was a slow starting game but as the game went on the Rams simply wore Hazard down. The Rams defense laid the wood and will continue being the backbone of the team for the rest of the playoffs. Raceland has to clean up a lot of the penalties though. This game was really ugly in that regard.

Hazard is really a better team than I thought. This game was close for a half but depth became the difference. Loved seeing Cooper play downhill tonight. Waller made some really good decisions tonight when things were rough early and didn’t force things. Bloss is a DAMN good LB as well. Really stout second half by the Rams.

Congratulations to Raceland I would say I would be a fan the rest of the year but i don’t want to jinx you guys

Hoping to see the Rams finally get it done this year.. The way is wide open.

Hazard defense came to play, the Hazard offense never left Hazard. As stated when you can’t get no help the results are what happens.
But Congrats to the Rams. I like there distribution of the different types of players getting touches.

We had more penalty yards than hazard had total yards. I think it was Raceland 380 and hazard had like 60. We had over a hundred yards in penalties. Defense was lights out again tonight. Offense just wore hazard down. Also I’m so glad 72 for hazard graduates. That dude might be the dirtiest player I’ve ever seen play highschool football.

He is dirty as could be. Both years MC played them i heard a lot of bad things about him

Hazard is really bad offensively or the Rams are very damn good. Zero first downs for Hazard in the first half. Late in the 4th Hazard returns a kickoff deep into Rams territory….around the 19 yard line I believe. Hazard gets a pass interference call picks up a first down at the five and four plays later turns the ball over on downs. At that point it was already 28-0 but man…..devastating for sure. I don’t believe the Hazard coach thought about the wind. He called two plays back to back trying to hit a deep out throwing from one hash clear across the other hash into a cross wind. It would’ve taken a nfl arm to make that throw in those conditions. Hazard need to work on depth and they will be right back at the top of 1A. They have some good looking young players. I look for them to be on the rise next year

The Rams have to address these penalties. It’s very uncharacteristic of a Raceland football team. I’d Hazard could’ve managed any kind of offense the penalties could’ve hurt us. It cost us one touchdown that I can think of and but us behind the chains way to many times last night.

“Young mistakes” got us at times last night and it was the same mistakes that kept us from beating LCA to end the regular season. Penalties, missed assignments, and “oh shit” moments.

Two deflections should have been turned into pick 6. We had not one but two TDs, and three third down conversions called back on holds. Last night could have been 60-0 if not for some bad mistakes.

That being said, this team plays with a fire and chip that past teams just haven’t had, and sometime with that chip, comes the penalties we are discussing, so it’s a double edge sword but it definitely has to get fixed, especially in the red zone. But the team chemistry seems really, really special. There was a play last night that Bloss and Rowsey had a double team on an outside defender. They ran him about 20 yards down into the end zone and were laughing the whole time. It’s just really fun to see these kids enjoying each rep and every moment.

Many, including myself thought the season could be lost…4-6/3-7 wasn’t out of the question and I thought 6-4 and a 3rd round appearance was the peak. But I will be damned if these boys haven’t proved me wrong and I couldn’t be happier or more proud. My son, who is a freshman in the team, told me I was wrong…I will gladly eat my crow this thanksgiving.

This team was a pleasant surprise. I’ll be the first to admit I was a doubter at the beginning of the year and thought the 3rd round was the ceiling. I never would have guessed that this could be the team that would get the first title but here we are 2 weeks away from that being a possible reality. These kids really stepped up and made a rebuilding year into a potentially really special year. The best part about this group is they are young and will continue being a tough team for the next few years.

This group of kids are just so damn fun to watch play the game. Especially on defense. The way the LBs and DBs fly around is unreal. The DL was going to be the catalyst of this team from the jump, they have done their part, which has allowed the rest of the defense to come along and straighten out the learning curves. Just a really good Raceland TEAM this year.

Something else that is special about this team is they started the season off 1-3. They very easily could have collapsed after that start against those tougher teams but instead responded and used those early losses to get better.

Raceland has a really solid team. Defense is tough and the mix up of play calling and execution on the offensive side is really impressive. Sammons is tough. One of the best defensive players I’ve saw this year.

Hazard had 73 yards of offense Friday with only three first downs

What makes this stat impressive is Hazard really wasn’t a bad team. They had a few dudes that could play but Raceland shut them down.  Obviously I don’t want to count our chickens before they hatch but this Raceland team is playing really good team ball right now and it will take a really good effort to knock them off.

I agree …..I like how this team plays defense. And the coaching staff has bought into playing with some safety help this year.

I mentioned this in another thread but the thing that impressed me the most last week was when we had the late goal line stand. They were up 28-0 and it would have been really easy to let up at that point in the game but they were still playing like it was close. I really liked seeing them play hard in a situation when the score was lopsided and they didn’t really need to keep the foot on the gas on defense.

By this time in the game me and my buddy was watching Pikeville and Sayer. We both looked up and we had the ball and we both said….they didn’t score?? Hahah we was very surprised that Hazard didn’t get in the end zone

This team has an edge that we haven’t had, maybe ever. Cut throat mentality. Even with the three state runner-up teams, 2006-2008 teams (considered some of the best), didn’t have that killer instinct.

I usually go back and watch these games but man it sure is hard to watch a team that can’t move the ball offensively or get out of there own way. The defense was pretty lucky to only give up 35. They played pretty dang good. If the offense could have done something who knows how this one could have turned out. Can anybody tell me how many minutes the Hazard defense was on the field and how long the offense was on the field? Hoping we can hit the weight room and get better for next year and stay healthy for a good playoff run. The good news Coach Chandler has things going in the right direction, and Hazard will return all 5 offensive lineman, only lose a wide out, halfback, and quarterback. Plenty of skill kids coming up and on the team. Defense got plenty of young kids time in the secondary, but we need to replace, 1 lineman, and 2 linebackers and a corner. Hoping to get a couple more kids out for next year that wanted to play this season, but kinda missed the bus on getting started when everyone else did. But we shall things go next season.

I have no idea the time differential but it was a hell of a lot to a little. I’m still impressed with the turn around hazard made in a years time. Raceland has a really solid defense. It their offense can put up a couple scores they should be in most games.

If I’m not mistaken Kool Hits had Hazard at or around 15 mins in TOP.
