Was just looking over these brackets and something caught my eye.

Although I think it’s BS on the team’s part who forfeits, I can see kind of why some do on first round matchups. I personally don’t agree with it and think they should just withdraw their name from consideration before any matchups are made. I think if there is any thought that your team may withdraw pending who they get matched up with, you should not even enter the tournament.

What I don’t understand at all is I see a forfeit by Pike Central in the second round game scheduled against Corbin. This forfeit comes after Pike Central defeated Bell Co in the opening round 41-6. What kind of sense does this make or is there some sort of extenuating circumstances that led to the forfeit?

You will have to contact Pike Central as to why they forfeited the game vis Corbin.

Who is Pike Centrals MS team? Didn’t know there was PC Middle School.

Did any of you watch the MS game between Hazard and Magoffin? What did you think about the offensive passing interference call Jake Johnson made at the end of the fourth quarter? I thought it was an awful bad call.

I watched some of the games at Corbin Saturday. it was a great day with perfect weather for football. I think thing the most competitive game I seen was the Perry vs Pulaski. the crowds were very into that game. the stand out team to me was the 6th grade Somerset team, they were a very advanced for their age group and came out slugging on Knox.

Did you stick around and watch the Somerset 8th grade team?  They had some big time plays on offense and defense against Middlesboro.

yes I did, Somerset looked like a JV team playing an actual 8th grade team. I was impressed with how built Somerset was but more impressed with the fight several Middlesboro players had against such tough odds. they were way out gunned.

O Cath, Somerset, and Pikeville were the most impressive looking teams I saw this weekend. Somerset and Pikeville have some large skill kids!! O Cath has a lot of speed.

Corbin/Boule was an awesome game as well

Give us a prediction on OCath/Pikeville

Imo it’s OCath speed vs Pikeville power. Pikeville has some “baby Hensleys” at WR. Meaning they are big, strong and block well. I think Pikeville holds the advantage upfront. It’s going to be Pikevilles toughest opponent but I like the Panthers by 2 scores. Should be a great game. If Pikeville gets up by a single score, the LBs will be turned loose and that will shake up the Ocath speed, imo.

I must be getting old Pikeville looks very fast to me.
#24
Not saying Pikeville isn’t fast. But I just feel like Ocath is faster. That being said, I still think the Panthers are more complete.

In game coaching is going to be huge this weekend, I dont think we see any team win by more than 14 points this weekend.
