What do you all think about the New coach and style of the Pikeville College Bears...How far do you forsee the Bears going this year? I, myself, love their offensive scheme...run em' and gun em' baby!

Did Pikeville sign Matt Maynard (RB for Belfry last year) to play Football.

I think they did BT ! And I think this team will be good getting back into the Playoffs this season !

The bears have a rough schedule this season. They open against George Mason (1AA...the same GM that played in the final four from what I heard)....a team from Ark., then go back to St. Francis to play the #2 team in the nation. Also, they have their conference schedule with Georgetown, Cumberlands, and Campbellsville. Any team can win on a given Saturday....but I don't look for the Bears to make it back....I hope they do since I'll be at about every game....Pikeville returns for camp this Sunday, hopefully they can get their new offense clicking early and roll through their schedule.

I know P-ville got in the hunt late but how many kids did they recruit and who were they; esp those from Eastern Ky.

I'm not sure the names of new players but they are MANY, MANY new faces on the teams. I will ask around within the week and find out which ones are from this area. I talked to Don Paul Branham today and he said that they are looking good so far and the season should look good as well so we will see.

I think Jamerson will probabily have a big season, he had some good games last season and Doug Howard could have his breakout season this year, two good local players.

Jamerson has left the bears. The second semester of this year he will be transfering to EKU to finish out his education.

Pikeville has 94 players (somewhere in that area) on the football team, 28 of them I believe are returning players. Word is 25-30 of the NEW players are ineligibile. Not much local talent left on the roster, I think like 13 EKY players.
And yes, Jamerson is no longer at Pikeville College, Josh and Paul Sullivan aren't playing (Josh is going to either Morehead or EKU for his education), I don't go to Pikeville anymore, Josh Hundley (started center last year for the Bears, from Whitley) was ruled ineligible, Nathan Moore is rumored to be out for a while with a hernia.
I don't see the Bears getting very much fun support from the local communities but that's not cause they didn't try. I know the new coaching staff offered ALOT of EKY boys scholarships but none wanted to play there. I wish them the best of luck, I will still go and watch my buddies play at home.

I'm not going back to school period, college just wasn't for me. I know Nick, Josh and Paul are just going to school to focus on education, IDK about Josh Hundley, haven't talked to him since school let out. Nate will be back soon, he just has to wait for this hernia to go away or whatever, his brother told me today he thought he might have to have surgery, IDK.

I hate school man. Football was the only reason I quit working and went back to school, but I'm not going pro so there was no point in waisting money. Not only that Blackcat, after I totalled my Jeep at the beginning of April and missed all that school before finals I ended up failing all 4 of my classes.

Have heard that the secondary and linebacker position is looking questionable and shakey at times. The def. line is performing well as expected, which is anchored in part by Paintsville's Ryan Brown. The offense has got the hang of the offense early in the season and have dominated most of the scrimmage time in practice. Jake Hundley from Breathitt Co. is out with a heart condition but will be allowed to return on Aug. 16....I look for him to get the starting nod, great arm and he's a big boy too. Jamerson will be at Pikeville this fall, I spoke to his family and they said he will go there this fall but will more than likely transfer out after this semester. He was a great addition last season, and will be missed. There are some starters from last season that were thought to be eligible but are having difficulty, best of luck to them so they can return to the team and practice. Good luck bears....season starts Sept. 2 at home against George Mason (who is indeed a club team, but have some talent)....will be interesting this season.

Pikeville will play hard, but will not challange for the Conference title IMO.

i think Pikeville will have a good season this year. they seem to have a strong offense and they have got alot of talented incoming players that seem to be very experienced and focused.

A lot of the talent they brought in this season are ineligible for some reason or another. However, they have recently lost several starters from last seasons defense due to academic reasons. The secondary has to improve for the Bears or it won't be pretty. Good luck to the team and all the local kids playing this season.

It does no good to recruit good players if they are not going to be eligable to play. A player should be looked at for his/her academics as well as his his/her athletic skill, it speaks for his/her character.

I wish the bears all the luck in the world but look for them to struggle. Conference is loaded! But it'll take coach bryan a cpl of yrs to get his players, and offense going. They will be fun to watch I promise u that.

Pikeville looked shakey at times today. I look for English to turn the starting QB spot over to Brethitt Co.'s Jacob Hundley. He was very impressive today and the team just seemed to gel a lot better when he was in the game....the Bears won 40-30 by the way

Hundley looked the best by far!!! Needs to drop some pounds!!
