RPI is such a joke. It would be completely laughable if it wasn’t so sickening.

what’s so laughable to you about the RPI ? We all know it’s not perfect. But the top teams in the East and West are accurately represented. Bell Rock Belfry are the top in the East. Cal, Central Hart Union Adair in the West. Any of the top 3 of the East could easily beat the other two and apparently Cal and Central are closer than expected I might even go as far as to say after the beating Central put on Cal that Central is slight lean now. Regardless Cal or Central are at the top but anything can happen that’s why you play the game.

RPI and to some extent these rankings are based more off of record than strength of schedule. I still would like Lexington Catholics chance to beat the majority of the bottom 5 in the above rankings. I still think 3A comes down to Central and CAL. Not saying a Belfry or someone out of the East couldn't beat them on a given night but i think it takes one of them having a great night and CAL/Central having an off night.

2A LCA is the only connection between 3A East teams and 3A West teams because of their game with 3A CAL and 1A Pikeville, and Pikeville's game with 3A Belfry. Follow those scores and it would seem that Central would be 13 points better than 3rd place Belfry. There is a long history between Central and Belfry and Championships. It could get interesting...

Too much to get into on here.....but the metrics and whatever algorithm being used is disappointing. But.....I'll say this.....Central should be at the top of the RPI....and its not even close.
