I’ll take it if they meet in the playoffs and Hazard gets a win.

All I hope for is Hazard doesn’t lay an egg like they did against Raceland. Hazard can’t afford to give Pikeville short fields. They also can’t afford to get behind the chains with penalties.

Hazard in that raceland game had a total of 10 possessions, and if I remember correctly 6 of those had penalties in them, 2 of those hazard fumbled the ball away, and the other 2 where ended in punts.

But Hazard responded and put a whopping on Paintsville the following week and got that early second quarter running clock, and got the backups some PT.

Unless something has dramatically changed in the past few weeks I don’t see Hazard being close in this game. If Pikeville comes out early and punches them in the mouth Hazard will quit. Mental toughness was seriously lacking with this team when they played Raceland.

Pikeville will win this game, because the refs will not let Hazard win this game. Hazard had never won at Pikeville in the regular season, but Hazard got the edges over Pikeville in the playoffs at Pikeville. Regular season the refs is from Pikeville, but in the playoffs the refs can't be from the same region the 2 teams is from.

To be fair, that's not exactly true. Saying Hazard hasn't won a regular season game at Pikeville since Pearl Harbor is absolutely true. Hazard won 7-0 in Pikeville on October 18, 1940! Panthers have won the last 18 regular season games in Pikeville over the past 84 seasons.

@jetpilot, any idea why Pikeville and Hazard didn't play from 1955 to 1991 except for a few scattered games from 1978 to 1981? Just wondering if there was some sort incident that ended the series for a long time. Sure would've seemed natural for those teams to have played back in the day.

I feel Hazard will have a better showing than they did against Raceland but I still think Pikeville wins by 2-3 TDs in this one. Howeve, I still won't write Hazard off come playoffs. Dangerous team that can knock off someone. They have had spurts that show they can compete.

Hazard has played a tough schedule. Raceland game was an aberration. This game will be close throughout. Pikeville has played a tough schedule as well. If Hazard doesn't turn the ball over, it will become a shootout.

Pikeville defense is getting better and could be championship caliber again soon. Johnson could make a big play or two but Hazard won't score many on Pikeville. I don't think they will be able to run the ball much at all. On offense even with injuries Hazard isn't stopping Anthony. I'll go 28-7 Pikeville.

What’s your opinion on the Paintsville game from last week? I know Pikeville didn’t look real Pikeville like to me in the game considering they just came off a bye week. I was looking for your comments and thoughts on it?

I agreed with you and others that said something's not quite right. But there's still time IMO and I think we will see a fired up Pikeville team Friday.
