Powell County at Lawrence County 10/18
#1
Powell County vs Lawrence County. Thoughts?
#2
Last 2 weeks Magoffin county had 447 rushing yards against Powell
Last week estill had 330 rushing yards against Powell
I'm predicting another lc beatdown against a team that isn't much of a contender against the Dawgs.
Lc 48 Powell 18

Pulling for my neighbors Lawrence Co.

Lawrence didn't beat Estill by much. Estill didn't beat Powell by much. Lawrence should beat Powell a little more than "not by much"

Lawrence is healthier now than they have been almost all season. The loss to Belfry sparked this team and they played fast and physical last week. If they do it again this week, this one isn’t close.

If LC loses this one they should drop football.

He’s not wrong. LC shouldn’t even be considering losing this one. Bulldogs are the better team and should go out and take care of business.

Powell is a better team than their record shows. If this game was in Stanton, I’d give the edge to the Pirates, with it being at Lawrence County, I’d say the Bulldogs by 2 TD’s. Hopefully it’s an injury free game.

I think it was more the opponent than the Belfry loss that “sparked” LC.  I just don’t see the correlation.   LC is hands down a better program and team than Magoffin.   Losing to Belfry doesn’t change that.   I do feel bad for LC’s injury situation.   Definitely gets much harder doing this with starters out and limited depth.   IMHO LC should not struggle with any of these teams other than Belfry.  Not knocking the other district teams….Just stating facts.

I wouldn't say sparked so much as of right now!! They've only played a team after belfry that honestly really wasn't any competition to say much about.
Kj had a great 1st half set the tone for that game
Having a good game against mediocre teams, then playing awful against good competition says they are just too immature this year to go any further than where the 3rd round takes them when the RPI kicks in.
But this game should be in the books before lc even steps on the field

Should be easy win for Lawrence County!

The loss to Belfry sparked the team in the sense of humbling them, showing them what it takes to be a great team such as Belfry. I guess the better choice of words would have been to said that it create a hunger inside the players and coaches.

Understand completely.   LC is a good program….but even the good ones have to be reminded that it takes a lot of hard work, effort and a focused approach.

I agree completely, I think the future for LC football looks really good.

I agree with you. Magoffin wasn't really a test other than playing on the road, if they really are hungry enough to win the regular season out they've gotta show it next week against Boyd County, along with Mason County the week after. Both are big road games that the bulldogs aren't favored to win this year. With kj being back it does give the bulldogs a different approach to these games
