Ironton 48 Pikeville 33
#31
^^^That's 6 games with 2 class A teams and not even close. Cincy Taylor 2-4 in their league ahead of only Indian Hill, Warren Central wasn't good until several years later, Scott Co was losing to Lex schools then and wasn't very good. Not in the same universe.

They’ve lost a bunch of these but they have competed right there against some of the states best in each of those games.

Pikeville is running the regular season gauntlet without regard to rpi so they can show up in the playoffs and crush teams dreams on their home fields. I hope we get to see a Pikeville vs Campbellsville matchup as a semi or state championship game.
Yes …. A little team back in the 90’s named Beechwood played this type of schedule every year. They actually went over and beat Cinn Moeller when they were on a two year winning streak.

Beechwood didn't ever come near this schedule. Not in the same universe. They would play Cov Cath and sometimes one more good team and New Cath was good then...

To be clear, never in Beechwood's history did their first 7 games come close to touching

Corbin
Johnson Central
LCA
Raceland
Belfry
GRC
Ironton

And I mean not in the same universe, ever.
Difference of opinion i guess
More like lack of facts. You made a statement and have nothing at all to back it up.

I mean you have to stop and consider the difference in football in the two eras of time. In the early 90’s we was coming out of the best era of high school football ever ….the 80’s. Two teams on Pikevilles schedule were good in the 90’s. One didn’t exist and the rest weren’t nowhere close to what the are now. If you look at teams on Beechwood’s schedule back then compared to what they are today then most of them are a joke. Footbal back then was better in northern Kentucky over all compared to what it is today. I mean ….its just fun to talk about ….nothing more

No one on earth, in the world of football, history of athletics, has or ever will touch anything Pikeville has ever done. Absolutely cracks me up.

Don’t waste your time, even with facts you will still be wrong

^^^Just take the L...In 2024 Pikeville played a 10x harder first 7 games than Beechwood (or any Class A team) ever played and it's not close to being close to being close.

Also, Raceland having no titles and whining on Pikeville threads cracks me up.

Raceland fans are like football fan equivalent of consultants. You know the definition of a consultant? It's a guy that knows 1000 different ways to F but doesn't know any women.

Beechwood beat a good team once I can't remember who so that means their whole schedule was tougher. Maybe surf a little and get facts in advance next time lol...you just keep digging a deeper hole for yourself hahaha

I think for some reason you think I’m dismissing Pikevilles schedule and that’s not what I’m doing at all. It’s hard …maybe it was to damn hard cause let’s face the facts. They didn’t need to play it to prepare them for class a playoffs. They were always gonna win another title this year regardless of their schedule. I do believe that football was better back then as a whole. We have good programs in each class then the talent falls off drastically. I just believe a hard schedule back then held more weight then it does today based on the over all talent in this state.

His argument against Pikeville's first 7 games is Beechwood beat Moeller once and teams were better back then. Then Scotty jumps in with Raceland would have had the same results. I can't take it hahahahahahahahaha. If I ever hang out on Raceland threads whining please ban me Westie and then hunt me down and shoot me lol...

So Raceland wouldn’t be sitting at 2-5 if they would have played the same schedule? Pikeville wouldn’t be sitting at 3-3? My god you all have become unhinged. No one has even said the schedule wasn’t tough as hell. You all can’t even have a conversation any more.
#55
Gentlemen, let’s focus. Yes, Pikeville and Raceland are bitter rivals, but they’re the two programs carrying the banner for Class A. Personally, I love when Raceland does well against upper class teams. It’s magnified when you think these two programs are located east of 64, the place where most others think football doesn’t exist. Both teams would struggle with each other’s schedule. Do other Pikeville fans really think we would’ve beaten Highlands 3 weeks ago? I doubt it.

As far as this game, I think everyone can agree Pikeville performed better than most were expecting. Does that mean they’re guaranteed to win the title, absolutely not. But they played well, and so did Raceland. That’s great for Class A. I hope Pikeville beats Boyd County and I hope Raceland beats LCA in Week 11. Let’s show the other classes, and the rest of the state, they these two programs, along with Campbellsville and Hazard, can compete with anyone.
#56
Not really sure who was whining. Unless by whining you mean having the audacity to state someone THAT WASNT EVEN RACELAND, had played a schedule as tough as Pikeville had this year. It’s all a matter of opinion. And I’ve had a lot of respect for most of the Pikeville posters on here for a long time…so im going to step away from this one now lol this officially has zero to do with the game thread.

Well dang, this was fun reading, but now I gotta go cut grass and play pickle ball at 7.

FWIW though…I miss the days when Raceland and Fairview could have threads like this. Where threads could get hijacked and everyone got irritated and frustrated with each other. I’m just glad Raceland has Pikeville and Pikeville has Raceland. If not, class A wouldn’t have any good rivalries.

A Healthy Pikeville wins 1A even playing on the road. Schedule and experience matters.

If there's one thing i've learned from this site, is Pikeville lives rent-free in Raceland's head. If you deny that you're lying.
