ER lost a tough one against Pike Central. It sucks when you lose by a TD. Anybody with the score, put it on here..cuz i dont know what it is..but good luck with the rest of the season Warriors.

The score is in the Football Scores Forum...Central won 28-21.

This was a real good game a tough one for the Warriors Gordon Varney had 2 touchdowns and David Ratliff had 1 I know of 2 I am thinking both of the were MVP gordon also hurt his knee

This game was a good one ! I figured it would be a boring game then I started watching it in the 3rd and it was a great game ! Congrats to both teams !

East Ridge got ripped! The fumble that got called back was a joke! The boy got his helmet knocked off he hadnt touched the ground but he fumbled it and somehow central got the ball back. What a joke.
08-20-2006, 02:45 AM
well If they was going to make that call they should of made it the other 4 times before that when his helmet came off too. #7 from Central evidentally had some equipment problems with his helmet because it seemed as if it was falling off every other play but when he fumbled was the only time the refs called it a dead ball.
08-20-2006, 02:48 AM
Well it was a dead ball his shoulder hit the ground so it was a dead ball if East Ridge would do more than let David Ratliff run the ball everytime the would be good
08-20-2006, 02:49 AM
Thats what Im sayin. I have played in several games where the helmet of a lineman comes off but play doesnt stop.
08-20-2006, 02:57 AM
Yes I agree
08-20-2006, 07:42 AM
These are two very well coached teams...McNamee and Ratliff are two class acts!

watched it on WYMT as soon as i got home. No part of his body touched the ground before Brad Branham ripped that ball loose. No use to argue over it though. That game is over.

That is right the game is over tell David Ratliff to do something besides run the ball and you would have won the game I hate watching David Ratliff play trys to run the dam ball everytime

You won the game ! Why would you put a player down in David Ratliff ? He was the only one IMO that could do anything for ER, He was a really good QB ! So there's no use in arguing over a game you won !

Well if I remember right they spread the ball around alot, yea he might have got a few more than the rest but not by much. Also why stop running him PCC could stop him. I was crazy about the offense they ran but it was hard at time to tell who did have the ball.
You go on about them running Mr Ratliff all the time if I remember correct they tried to do the same thing with #5 but he just didnt have the same results as did Ratliff. I hope they try that against us when we come up there, because are D will have a field day.

I understand that last play he trew short he should have went deep could have scored a touchdown

Much better game than anyone expected. Great win for the Hawks. Both teams are improved. The only thing that East Ridge fans could second guess is they did a very poor job using their timeouts. It might not have mattered anyway, but they had 2 timeouts left over in the 1st half and the real shocker is that they didn't use a single timeout on the last drive of the game. They had three TO's left and didn't take a single one. Even if it was just to let players rest, all TO's should be taken in the season opener. They did appear tired on defense during PC's last drive. A good timeout might have settled them down, but who knows?? Still a nice showing by ER! IMO Ratliff for ER had a really good game and made good decisions all night. He kept them in it!

this was a great game i think it was closer then what it would have been if Varney had stayed healthy...I was kinda disappointed in the way both lines played for PC you could tell a major diffrence in them when Varney was in the game and when he wasnt...I think the Hawks have found a new love for passing the ball which i loved seeing last night...
U thought Ratliff for ER did a great job last night he kinda began to tick me off lol b/c we couldnt stop he def is the most athletic and talented on ERs team...ER is a good team just need to work on the secondary really bad IMO...
But good jobs by both teams and good luck with the rest of the season...
Congrats Hawks continue to make me proud...

Hawk fans, you people are just mad because David Ratliff just about pulled the win out over your lucky Hawks. The play where the ball was blown dead was a bad call. I sat beside of an offical from Lexington and he said that was clearly a fumble and the guy who made the call it wasn't his call he came from the other side of the field. Thats Ok we will take the lost and somewhere this season there will be payback. Ratliff rushed for 177yards and two TDs and kicked three extra points. Don't know what you people mean by letting someone else run the ball he tore up your Hawk defense all night.

I thought We were lucky to get away with a win in this one. East Ridge looked like a much improved team. I saw a new, or at least unfamilliar coach on the sideline for ER. Who is he?
08-20-2006, 11:04 PM
All of you are correct when Carter fumbled the ball. However according to a NEW rule, if the helmet of a player comes off, the play is ruled dead. If that rule was not in the books, it would have clearly been a fumble and the outcome of the game would have been different in my opinion. I am proud of my Hawks but they were lucky and need to put more heart into their game. They fell apart when Gordon got hurt and that is a point in which they need to show more heart and try even harder. I hope they realize that before it's too late. You never can tell might what happen in these games with injuries.

It was indeed a good game. Gordon Varney ran the ball well but got hurt and didn't play for a while then sucked it up and got the job done
Ratliff is a good football player i played against him last year in the Pike Co. Bolw where me and him won MVP..

Much better game than I had expected. To lose by only a touchdown sucks and espically on a controversial play but congratulations to Pike Central and best of luck to my Warriors, looks like they are getting better than expected..
08-22-2006, 09:32 PM
Pike central #1, you said that i was stupid for not throwing the ball long the last play of the ame when i reality you have no clue what in the world you are talkin about. First of all there wasnt even anybody outside of 20 yards downfield and the play was designed to go where i threw it to. The reciever just didnt pitch the ball to the back that was runnin out there too him. Oh yea who do you think you are gettin on here and criticizing me. If you think that you could do any better then maybe you should strap it up and try.

Congrats to gordon on the mvp award and i hope nothing is seriously wrong with his knee and goodluck to pcc in the rest of there season. Both teams played hard
