Rockcastle 14 Clay County 0
#1
Final.

Rock’s defense played 2 perfect weeks in a roll and was the reason for the win tonight. 6-0 is 6-0 but our offense needs to score and figure things out for next week.

Congratulations Rockcastle!!! Sounded like a heck of a game!!

Rock has to clean it up. Fumbles will kill you soon then later. With that said. Best game defense has played. Hunter Pingelton was everywhere. It is always great when you get the goose egg

It was an old school slobber knocker type of game! Rock offense was non existent which I’m glad it chose this week to show its ugly head and hopefully they take this week to get everything squared away! I know you don’t want to show your entire hand prior to the game next week and our defense was able to really take over this game. Clay offense wasn’t able to do anything all night and mainly that was because Rock lived in Clay backfield basically any time it wanted and that was early and often! Best the defense has played all year by far! One thing is for sure we haven’t given away much of any tape on the offense which I’m hoping comes back to life for next week! Special teams was good tonight too as Leger had a big punt return that setup short field that lead to the TD that put rock up 14-0 right before the half. Outside of that and the defense blocking the punt and scoring the first few minutes into the game, those were the only scores Rock had but the defense pitch the shutout on the other end to seal the game. At the end of the day 6-0 is still what you wanted to be we will take it heading into the big matchup next week! Let’s go Rock!

Congratulations to Rockcastle. I look for them vs Bell to be another super competitive game that im favoring Rock in as of now.

I actually thought this was a pretty competitive ball game that could’ve easily ended 7-0 instead of 14-0 if it weren’t for the blocked punt. I would imagine there were at least 7 fumbles, if not more, between the two teams. The Rockets were the better team most of the way but the Tigers did some good things. Clay showed the ability to throw late but I’m sure the Rock defense was fine with that as someone said they were doing a really good job at the line. Probably won’t know much more in the grand scheme about either team until they play Bell and Knox.

Rocks are doing great just like they did last season. Just wish they didn’t play cupcake schedule, cause we all know that will not translate well in the playoffs.

Yea bc let’s be honest Lawrence County has played that world beater of a schedule. 10-17 record combined for the win loss of LC opponents and 4 of those 10 wins came from the team that beat you so really 6-17 from the wins of the mighty Bulldogs make sure you have room to talk before you beat that chest of yours. That cupcake schedule everyone complains about Rock has played may be 16-14. But that’s counting a loss to Rock on everyone schedule so take that away and it would be 16-8 and the one bad team being Pineville who hasn’t won a game is responsible for 5 more so 16-3 without Pineville loses being factored while it’s not great still looks better than LC. I would focus on your game next week against your big district matchup just like all our focus will be on ours. Big week ahead for both teams. We can talk come playoffs if we meet up again.  Good luck ?
