Was terrible both ways!!

Bell County won this one because Perry couldn’t stop them late.
Bell rolled the dice on a lot of 4th downs and got all but 2 of them. Hard to beat a team like that.

Officiating was not that bad.
Colin Combs also missed this one. Coach’s decision.
He’s a difference maker for the Commodores and would loved to have seen him out there but also understand losing a non district game isn’t the end of the world when you’re trying to coach up young men.

Bell County 28, Perry Central 12

The Bobcats ran their win streak to three games after holding off Perry Central in a tough 28-12 win.

I don’t care what kind of line Perry has. Life without 40 is rough. Hopefully the coaches see that now and will quit taking the ball out of his hands in key moments.
#7
It’s pretty obvious Colin Combs is the best player on Perry’s team. He plays tonight, Perry wins I think.

40 learns to keep his cool and he will be on the field

Just shows you that 1 key player out means the whole team suffers. Not saying the score woulda been much different but It comes to light in big games such as this one

Kids been overlooked by that coaching staff for 3 years. Nothing will ever change. No reason for him to not get 25-30 carries a game and ALWAYS get the ball in the red zone. Dixon and Fugate’s play calling is trash and always has been. Cater to a lot of kids parents. Kinda pathetic really.

Hard to argue that Combs shouldn’t get the ball in the red zone and short yardage situations, but I think Gibson has more than proved his worth out there for the Commodores.

These two are backs that should complement each other to make the team better. Week 1 everything went through Slingshot and Perry lost. Week 4 everything went through Gibson and Perry lost. The two weeks where they split reps they won and left zero questions as to who the better team was. They’re a dynamic backfield.

I don’t think any of the coaches needed to learn a lesson about how Colin makes the team better. The lesson that needed to be learned was hopefully achieved by a young man wearing blue jeans on Friday night. I’m a big fan of #40 and I wanna see the kid run over some people next week and see some big runs for Gibson.

Shaping and molding these young men for the future is something a lot of people don’t see I’ll agree with you there. Theres also a lot that you don’t see or know. Attitude and character reflects leadership in my opinion. Someone made the comment of how if he stayed cool he’d be on the field. It’s an emotional game and things happen sometimes. There’s always events leading up to why things happen and those are some of the things you and a lot more may or may not know. Gibson has done a fine job. I don’t think anyone’s denying that. The kids hard to catch if he gets the edge on you. Once he gets a little bigger and stronger he’ll be hard to stop. Im a fan of him for sure. I’m just saying that combs has to be out there with the bulk of the work load and not trying to run lead blocker. Especially short yardage and red zone/goal line plays.

I watched some of this game but it was sporadically.
I thought both teams played hard, from what I saw.

Congratulations BobCats!

They both did play hard granny. I saw several people complaining about the refs and it happens a lot when you take a loss. In my opinion it wasn’t great called but it was consistent on both sides. Bell has a solid team. After losing Thomas to graduation I wasn’t sure how they’d be but they’ll make a deep post season run if there’s no bad injuries.

Last week when Lawrence County fans pointed out that we had 4-5 two way starters out, Perry County fans accused us of whining. My how the tables have turned.

This isn’t a post about last week. Let’s leave that in the past along with the loss Perry gave you all.

I agree with Zaga; those 2 backs should feed off one another. When that happens PCC wins.

It also helps when the other team has half their defensive starters in streetclothes.

I don’t see other fanbases collect admirers as the season goes on like Perry. Either way, glad to have all the Lawrence County folks along for the ride. The Commodores face Shelby Valley next week at home.

I had Colin in class when I was a teacher and he was a model student for me.

I’m not around as much anymore and I don’t doubt there’s a ton I don’t see. I’m sure things led up to the outburst last week that were out of his control and seemed unfair, but the way you respond to it is your decision. These are kids and they’re going to have their moments. I think next week will be a revenge game for this team and I foresee a lot of rushing yards for the Commodores.

Exactly my argument. Just like people pointing out #40 was out and wishing they could see how they done with a full crew!! That's the only thing we was saying about LC. No excuses like everyone thought ?
congrats Bell, sounded like a great game!!

I smell a upset brewing! valley has been given no chance to win this game, just like Perry was given vs Lawrence and Breathitt . Shelby valley has over 1000 passing yards already this season and Perry’s Deb’s don’t do well against the pass in my opinion.
Shelby valley-27
Perry-24

Any time you get an officiating crew that has multiple members that are actively or formerly members of the Middlesboro athletic department in some capacity, or works in the school everyday at MHS, and make them officiate a bell county football game, its going to be HORRENDOUS for everyone. You would think that there would be a conflict of interest for officials, but only if you are FOR the team present, definitely not AGAINST.

Regarding the game, Perry had some undisciplined moments that hurt them, and even more bell didnt take advantage of. Bell county had two wide open receivers on drives that resulted in TOD, both were drops. Another one could’ve been caught but was slightly overthrown. 2 TDS for sure off the board due to execution. Bell county has slowly shown they have potential to have at most the same result as last season, but they have to know when to put the pedal down and attack rather than playing not to lose. Two defensive starters out for bell in this one, and they still appeared to show promise and improvement. Let up the only TD of the game very late while in prevent.

From my understanding if it wasn't for 2 fg's and a lonesome td late in the game the bobcats had it won 28-0

If not for a blown call the game is tied in the 3rd quarter
