i said that belfry needed to prove they could go on the road and win a game and they did that and i give them all kudos for doing it......

now for the bad..... this defense is still awful and this game might look much different had southwestern not gifted the pirates a 19 to nothing lead with 3 early turnovers. to make it worse southwestern coach Foley loves to go away from anything that is working...... never seen anything like it in my life!!!!!!!!!!!

for belfry youre going to have to get stops next week and youve struggled against the run all year well u havent seen a rb this good yet and i think the defense is going to be more prepared for you than anyone you seen yet

congrats an kudos on going on the road but there is no time to celebrate it.......... your next opprotuntiy to prove something is only a week away

Can’t wait for next week’s matchup. This time of year is so much better in the mountains when Belfry and Pikeville are both competing.

Nice with for Belfry on the road. Much needed. Offensively, this Belfry team has a lot of weapons. When they play clean (no turnovers, limited penalties) they are a handful.

That being said….defensively….this group simply cannot or will not commit to fundamentally sound tackling. Way too much reaching, flailing arms, etc etc.

Once again…a running QB gave Belfry fits last night. The Dumpford kid is not a passer, so why we didn’t adjust our rush lanes and spy a LB is a mystery. He is a very good looking athlete. Not sure SW shouldn’t consider the Wildcat moving forward.

All in all….good overall performance from the Pirates after a 3.5 hour bus ride. Get ready for next Friday…..Pikeville’s running game will be waiting. The big question will be can Belfry’s defense get stops? Should be interesting.

Tackling is one issue getting manhandled up front by anyone and everyone is another one…….. not going to be pretty trying to take down brendon Anthony!

Belfry jumped out 19-0. Rest of 3 quarters was 28-26 belfry. They need to finish better. Pikeville had a lot to improve on but if Anthony is healthy he will be very hard for Belfry to stop. Hylton kid for belfry is best defender they have. But need to get him help upfront. Panthers might go after belfrys under sized safety’s. JC running backs ran over them all night and none of them are close to as physical as Anthony
