I believe I heard they were paid to play the game the same way teams are played to play in bowl games. Boyle only has 4 home games this season because of the Danville cancellation and to lose the gate on a home game they would have had to get paid to come. They were due to host Danville which is a pretty big gate for them. St. Ed's had an open week because the school they were supposed to play shut down. Worked out for both parties. I also don't think the amount was enough to cover the entire cost of the trip.

I’d agree! Single handedly defeated the Smith twins last year. Wonder how much noise GARRARD would have made in 3A had things been different.
