Friday night cancelations and updates
#1
Is it possible some games around the state will be canceled or moved due to the school closings in Clay, Laurel, Rockcastle & Pulaski ?
#2
With the lunatic roaming the mountains, I believe it is likely to happen if he's still at large.
#3
If they are still out of school - i.e. he's still on the loose - then there's no way they should have games at those schools.

Someone told me Sunday night that he was spotted pretty close to Old School's neck of the woods . Within a mile or so from my subdivision. Don't know how reliable those reports are. Nevertheless,, I might have to take him out if spot him. I don't want to miss Friday night lights. How dare that nut for jeopardizing football action.

I hope they find him dead, soon. If not, I hope that law enforcement kills him in a shootout with no one else getting hurt or killed. Someone like this doesn't deserve to live.

Hearing Rockcastle is having school tomorrow for what it's worth.

None of the school districts in Pulask County: Somerset, Pulaski County Schools, and Science Hill, have been closed.

Corbin has been closed all week due to this coward. he went to Whitley County high school and 8 years ago vandalized Campbell Field and Rotary Park with very derogatory things about Corbin football vs Whitley with spray paint so I really question if the Pulaski game will be played if they don't capture him before Friday.

Whitley versus South Laurel is now off. Road trip to Campbellsville for a very interesting game is the replacement on Friday night for the Colonels.

So Corbin hasn't been practicing this week?

I'm not a particularly big fan of this shooter.

But someone said in another thread they are practicing somewhere else. Seems odd if true.

LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - Both North Laurel and South Laurel high schools confirmed to WYMT that their respective football teams have cancelled their football games set for Friday, Sept. 13.

I-75 mass shooting
The search for I-75 suspect enters day five
The search for Joseph Couch, the suspect in the I-75 shooting, is entering day five.

North Laurel was going to travel to play Madison Central and South Laurel was going to host Whitley County.

The cancellation comes following the closure of Laurel County schools due to the five-day manhunt for I-75 mass shooting suspect Joseph Couch.

According to school officials, North and South Laurel high schools have not set a fill-in game for the future yet.

Good call by postponing games or canceling them. Everyone is going to be on edge until the suspect is caught. Prayers for our law enforcement members who are working hard! Hopefully, most games are able to be made up soon.

What happens if they don't ever find him? We cancel school forever and everyone hides out?

My guess is because then you have the whole team and fans and students in buses traveling down the road in an area where a known shooter could be to get to the game at the other field.

I've had a similar thought. At some point, they have to go back to school. If they don't find him anytime soon, it will be interesting to see when that decision happens.

I75 so far has been swarmed by law enforcement and helicopters where that incident took place, doubt he is anywhere close to I75, they are heading away from 75 through the wood towards HWY 80. Now that's a whole different story. So, you have tons of woods and most of it is Daniel Boone National Forest along the Rockcastle River towards Bee Rock and Hwy 192 towards the Laurel River Lake. So, the dude can be anywhere if he hasn't hopped in a car along one of the roads in between. The Sheltowee Trail has been closed recently from 421 to 192.

We are closing the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail between US-421 and KY-192 to support ongoing search efforts for I-75 shooting suspect Joseph A. Couch. This closure includes portions of Section 20 (McKee) and Section 26 (Laurel Lake) and all of Sections 21 (Horse Lick), 22 (Rockcastle), 23 (Wildcat), 24 (Hawk Creek) and 25 (Big Dog).a. https://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/dbnf/alerts-notices/?

I merged your thread because we already have been talking about it on this thread and can keep traffic to one spot. You see, North Laurel has took the bye week and cancelled this weeks game. Added Johnson Central to next Friday that was originally the bye week. Nice pick up by North Laurel. South Laurel, I have not seen or heard anything yet. If anyone does, let us know.

Not being able to practice all week could also factor into game cancellation.

I figure if they don't find him soon, kids will return to classes with a very heavy police presence.

Let's just cancel the season because of this loon. Just think how many crazies are out there that we don't know about that are contemplating a Friday night lights shooting spree? We can't live in fear because of one cowardly guy with mental problems. There are hundreds more just like him within a five mile radius of Anywhere, USA.
