Huge win for Knox Central. I consider Somerset a tuff football team and that's a big 1st win for Wayne Mills and Knox Central for this season.
Congratulations!!

Somerset lacks a game breaker like they had last season.

meh, metrics can only do so much for high school ball. Somerset beat a bad Perry team and a below average Russell team.

to be fair I think this game was a toss up.

Congratulations to Knox Central! I was cheering for Somerset, but KC played a great game.

Somerset has either 10 or 11 holding penalties called, and 15+ total penalties.  Never got in a rhythm after they had what would have been their 2nd touchdown in the first half called back.

Very poor performance for the offense even without all the holding calls.

I said a few days ago that Knox Central could be a Danville win later in the year.

Well, I take that back now!

And that Russell County team turned around and beat South Laurel by 20, one week after South Laurel had beaten Knox Central by 11 last week.  Sometimes high school football doesn't make sense.

Congratulations Coach Mills and Panthers

Somerset could not get anything going offensively tonight. Gain 5 then get backed up 10 because of a penalty, flags was the theme of the night. Poor performance by special teams, if not for a calm freshman punter the game could've gotten out of hand.

Given the outcome of the game, those 2 punts, that he was able to get off after the snaps went over his head, were the 2 biggest plays that Somerset made all night.  He really handled those 2 plays well.  He has a bright future kicking the ball.
