Perry Central 35 Lawrence County 21
#1
Final.
#2
Tough loss for the Bulldogs who were down some players but congrats to the Commodores on the win.
#3
Congrats to the commodores. Well earned win!! That #40 is one of the hardest nosed tail backs I've seen in the state this year!!
I guess we stayed in it as much as we could. On to week 4 Dawgs!!
#4

Me also. But I would've l9ve to see what Lawrwnce could've done at at full strength.
They are the youngest team in the mountains right now!!

Me also. I would've liked to see what Lawrwnce could've done at at full strength. Even tho the KJ and fetherolf duo is magic, one of our main legs to the run game was unfortunately hurt!! It happens tho, we played to our best ability I do believe
And also LC is possibly the youngest team in the mountains right now!!

Perry County finals wins a game they are supposed to win. I’m not surprised in the outcome. Perry has a lot of talent on this team.
#8
Im not sure they were supposed to win this one. They did play well and executed better. One thing they need to clean up is all the penalties.
#9
Was the six starters out last night due to injury’s ?
#10
I only know of four players that did not play, not sure where the six came from?

He’s a work horse. Unfortunately seems like the Perry coaching staff doesn’t reward him with the pay dirt that he deserves. Good win for the dores though. Good luck to LC the rest of the season.

Whats the status of Williams? Will he be back this season? That's a big loss for LC on both sides.

Coaches will need to get Johnson and Derifield out in open space and not try to utilize them between tackles.

Are you talking about Perry being 100% and Lawrence traveling while only at 70%?? Even tho they do have a great line and a run game established. They did beat a 3A team that was down this week. And it come down to the last minutes of the 4th quarter to seal that deal!!If they was really that great they shoulda beat lc by 40 lol

Buddy I’m sorry to tell you Perry was beating them the whole game, it never came down to the last minutes of the 4th. Perry about scored again to make it 42-21 but they called a fumble on a breakaway run and the kids knees were down. Penalties can’t be used as excuses either because Perry suffered more from them than Lawrence. The only real key factor was that number 4 from Lawrence was hurt. No team ever is 100 percent. Lawrence is a good team though. Maybe the game would’ve been different. Guess we won’t ever know.

I agree with you 100% Perry dominated  And the line destroyed us all night! And if we rewind it would pobably happen all over again because the way our Defense cant stack up against a run defense this year!!
But they did beat a pretty good freshman/sophomore team! That came in the game at only 70%
Lawrence just don't have the Defense this year that they are known for and it'll show in big games such as this!!
# 4 was hurt yes, along with cameron castle, preece, chiko all difference makers and bring the intensity to the game!!
I didn't say they didn't deserve the win, all I was saying was Lawrence had there chance to bring a good one back late in the fourth (about a 45%) chance at that.
I'm glad both teams will learn from this one.
Your bringing up a fumble. Let's talk about the flop that Perry's lineman pulled lol. Funniest shit I've seen all year

4 5 or 6... it shouldn't really matter LC learns from this game and moves on. Hoping the health bug don't strike again throughout the year and hoping they can win some key games in 3A

That flop was perfectly timed and definitely some funny stuff

Unfortunately I'm reading Williams has a torn Acl, meniscus, and a torn muscle in his leg!! Pray he gets healthy ?

That's awful news. I pray that he recovers and has a bright future!

If Lawrence couldn’t handle PCC then the Big Red Machine will roll when we meet
#20
How about the freshman running back for PCC that torched your defense all night. Your talking about sophomore and freshman PCC had as many as you guys did on the field

I'm sure we will be hearing his name for years to come. Just like me and a few spectators talked about a few weeks ago, if any opponent has any run identity at all this year, the Dawgs will have trouble stopping them. And ill give credit you all have just that. You have to give credit to your line of scrimmage for that one also. Them cats are big and fast.
Good luck in 4A

They've been bringing out the best in the Dawgs for a couple years now. So guess we will see in 4 weeks

I don’t know about that . A lot young teams in mountains. Breathitt starts 7 freshmen . I think 4 on offense and 3 on defense. Only start two sr . 1 on offense and 2 on defense.
I think Perry pretty young too. They start a lot freshman too. But they have good mixture of young kids and upper classmen

I'm sure there are plenty of teams in the mountains that start younguns, lc might have 4 seniors that start if they are lucky. 12 or 13 sophomores. And 5 to 6 freshman that make the starting positions. A couple juniors in the mix

If #4 for Lawrence would have played, he would have been, in my opinion, the best player on the field. #21 is a stud too and he’s recovering from injury so he wasn’t healthy either. The freshman running back for PCC was good, Gibson I believe, and so was Combs.
#26
Any more excuses? Perry had just as many, if not more young kids on the field as Lawrence did. Perry should've won by 21 if that 'fumble' was ruled down as it should've been. Fact of the matter is, on Friday night, Perry beat Lawrence because they were the better and more physical team, end of story.

Perry did in fact beat Lawrence County because they were the better team that night, you’re right. Not taking away anything from the players and coaching staff. I am saying, however, if both teams were at full strength then in my opinion this would have been a different ball game.

Lol here goes the excuse card your throwing up! While your throwing around a fumble and the score should've been 21 up. Sorry to tell you but it wasnt. When lc got called back for holding on a big touchdown play, noone brings that play up! So if you wanna play that card I guess we can go back and forth all night!! And yes both teams mightve had young players but lc had many starter that wasn't in the game and it showed!! End of the day the team learns from this week and moves on. Praying to God we have another shot next year, because unless something changes this year we won't go too far. Along with our star being out, I'm just seeing our #5 has an injured knee. See we will see what's gonna happen with that!!
Not looking good tho

I think prefacing every post about a game with how many kids were out and having a young team is genius.

It makes it harder for the other team’s fans to thump their chest like Lawrence County has for a year about the Perry game last year.

It’s always one thing or another. It’s football, injuries happen. No team is 100%. Perry was just the better football team on this Friday night. I don’t get why people complain all the time. No offense to either Perry County or Lawrence county both teams are solid for mountain schools in my opinion. What I got to say about all of this is, it’s over can’t go in the past and make all of these injured players play so there is no use in these people complaining about it.
