Pikeville starts 0-3 on the field for the first time since 1961.

This result absolutely sucks.

Putty tat Super Bowl next week!
Killer was 2nd and goal from the 1 for Pikeville and bad snap. Up 12-7 at the time and could have been a 2 score game. Instead, ended up going into half down 17-12 after TD and a 48 yard field goal by LCA at the buzzer. Completely changed momentum and then LCA got ball after half and scored. That was ballgame.

^^^Very hard to get up for Raceland after playing Corbin, Johnson Central and LCA before the Rams and Belfry and Ironton immediately after.

With all the bad snaps this year should have been under center on the 1.

Pikeville 0-3 sounds so odd. They will probably still win the state champion in 1A. lol

What did Pikeville have success on tonight? Offensively?

Make no mistake Pikeville is the best 0-3 team in the state. Their schedule is brutal for a class A team. There is no one in class A that they will fear or shy away from after the teams they have faced so far and will face the remainder of the season. Class A title will come back to Pike Co. You heard it here first!

Trinity has started 0-5 before and won the state title. I like Pikeville's chances of hoisting another trophy a lot more than I do Corbin's.

I’d take 0-3 Bryan Station over 0-3 Pikeville. Nevertheless, still a top 2 team in 1A.

For me the 0-3 start isn’t surprising. The schedule is brutal. What is surprising is seeing Pikeville making the mistakes they are making and giving up the points they have in those losses. The teams across the field have a lot to do with it. But the Panthers don’t generally go into the red zone and not come back with points. They don’t typically turn the ball over. They also don’t typically give up 40 points, regardless of who they play. Pikeville will be fine in 1A ball though and this schedule will be the reason for it. NCC was 5-5 going into the playoffs one year and won it all. As long as you can stay healthy, small schools that play tough schedules generally have things work out for them.

When Pikeville drove down to the two yd. line, hoped they would score. Not trying to second guess coaching staff but Duty, Imo should have been under center. That ball should have been placed in Caudill's belly. He's bigger, stronger, and more experienced in that situation. Jayden Justice' time will come, and he's going to get better and better on both sides of the ball. In the 4th qtr. when Pikeville again was deep in the red zone, protection collapsed around Duty, the ball was slapped out of his hand and a D lineman rumbles 85 yds, for the td. Those two scenarios didn't help one bit. But ,like they say "if its and buts were candy and nuts, we would all have a merry Christmas''. It doesn't get any easier for the Panthers with the next three games, but as Pikeville fans you have to like what we saw from the offence last night. Right out of the gate they had a better look where they had made changes, and it paid off. Good to see Deonte stevens in the offence. Like the speed, quickness, and toughness he has. Kids valuable on both sides of the ball. Issac Duty was more accurate and threw more deliberate from his position. Really think the O will get better each week as long as everybody stays healthy. Now after last night, its obvious, the D has defiantly more learning to do. Jmo.

I don’t think there is a reason in the world you shouldn’t be under center on the one yard line. Raceland lost a game to Taintsville the year they won their ring because of this situation. It’s bad coaching

Pikeville ‘s offense last night was clicking in spurts but I don’t care if they are in shotgun or under center Caudill would have had the ball in his belly at least 2 of those chances plain and simple much better runner in those circumstances but when Pikeville’s opening series they really look sharp and Hager had a great night but I believe Pikeville will be fine and congratulations to LCA

why not kick the field goal and go up in that situation. Total momentum shift. Pikeville transfer is one hell of a kicker

Caudill is a force but the main problem is the line on both sides of the ball. Duty is not a mobile guy and struggles when scrambling. Needs time to sit in the pocket which is nonexistent. Was hoping to see reynold’s mobility when the game was near the end. Great at throwing in the run.

There is no other single A school playing the caliber of competition that Pikeville is playing. I wish Vegas set odds for high school football, because I would lay a lot of money on 0-3 Pikeville to hoist the championship trophy again this year. You only get better playing teams bigger and stronger, and that’s the Panther formula.

If the only teams pikeville beat on their schedule are single A teams are they happy as long as they win sate. That is the goal. I’m not saying that’s what’s going to happen but Pikeville was definitely expecting to show they could play regardless of class.
