What have they won? Nothing and they are getting kids recruited to schools they will never play at. None of those kids are where they signed. Kinda makes Pendleton’s coaching abilities look suspect. All those D1 signees and they can’t win crap. Half the time they can’t get past Wheelersburg or harvest prep.

Don't see the difference in what Raceland is doing now vs. what Fairview did 12-14 years ago, but you guys keep telling yourselves whatever it is that makes it a difference in your eyes I guess.

I do admire Raceland's tradition and passion for the game of football and I think they will break through and win a state title eventually. I do think other schools in the area could do more to keep kids at their school, and at Raceland it is clear that the passion is there.

Just proof that two things can be true. I just think it's funny that LCLion4Life is getting raked by you guys for sharing an opinion that is valid.
You are kidding right? What we are doing and what the West wild beagles were doing is daylight and dark dude! We don’t have an apartment complex we are putting kids in and we aren’t sending vans to Huntington to pick kids up and drop off from school either. We don’t recruit. And if we start we will be getting kids from the Huntington/columbus/Cincinnati area. Not the hotbed of football that is Lewis county. We would be getting kids good enough to beat Pikeville. The difference between the Pikeville area and this area is that up there the good players will go where they know they can win. Down here people hate us to much to transfer here to win a state title. Face it…..if you are at Ashland you ain’t winning ? because of Boyle and Corbin and Cov cath. Unless you fudge your student numbers and get put back in 3A again. Boyd co Russell and Greenup all have the same problem. So if I’m worth a shit I’m going to Raceland. If that makes any of you mad I don’t care. But to compare us to the scareview eaglets is just plain stupid.

Whether you get kids from Huntington and Charleston or you get kids from Lewis County, or transporting them from home and back or not but having contact with them to bring them to your school, it's recruiting all the same. That's a load of crap, so no, comparing you all to Fairview is not stupid. I would say calling them Scareview is silly by you, especially considering that they continue to play in district with their numbers situation. What they have done since 2013 is very commendable, especially when Fred Ray was there and now with Roy leading them despite not having the numbers they had.

I don't hate you guys; like I said, I admire your passion for the game. More schools around here need to have what Raceland has in terms of passion for the sport. I just find it funny that you guys think it's an apples and oranges situation when any recruiting is or should be frowned upon based on the rule. You guys are the ones who have more of the hate.

Rule doesn't stipulate that recruiting kids within a certain radius or area is okay, rule stipulates that recruiting, period, is wrong. I've seen Raceland posters post this as well like it is okay that you are getting players within a certain part of the region or whatever, that it makes it okay. No, it does not by the letter of the law.

Personally I wanted Cooper to come in and be the guy. I didn’t want to lose Ison at WR and DB. But atleast through the preseason, Ison looked like the best option. Waller throws a better ball, but doesn’t possess the same physical abilities that Ison does. I think by seasons end we will see all 3 of them getting snaps. Ison and Cooper give you more of a wildcat or dual threat QB. While Waller is more of a traditional pocket QB. I’ve really liked Cooper since day 1. Kid has a great attitude and works his ass off. He just didn’t pass the test to get the starting QB spot.

They were so mad. It was aggravating, because I felt Fairview was making NEKY football around here better with the guys they were bringing in and putting pressure on other teams. I didn't agree with what they were doing and I know others didn't either, but from 2010 to 2013 you had to be on your game to beat them, plus made other teams better in the process because you had to raise your game to beat them. They were legit during that timeframe.

I appreciate it buddy. And I completely agree with everything you said here. The passion is definitely there in Ramland and I do think they will win a state title eventually. Ram fans just get up in arms when outsiders comment on their team. Never fails.

Hope you're doing well! Good seeing you again on these forums! I hope Stamm can get the ship righted over there at LC, he was a good football player in his day.

Once again who is recruiting? And it is apples to oranges or any other fruit you can think of. Comparing us to anything in westweed is ridiculous. Field of dreams Bud. If you build it they will come. If you win they will come. Saying Fairview was legit during that time frame is absolutely laughable. Also we haven’t yet played a kid who had graduated from Ashland the year before yet either. Sour grapes there lassie or colley or whatever breed you are.

“Can’t we all just get along”. Lol
#35
Every school does it. Some just do it better.
#36
Does what?
#37
I heard that Lewis' superintendent filed a complaint with the KHSAA, even emailed Raceland's superintendent about the "meetings" between Raceland's HC and one of the Lewis transfers' family
#38
Yea Lewis has been doing that crap since the beginning of time. They are who reported about the GC stuff a few years back and they are the ones that have reported Ashland multiple times. They are always looking to stir the pot. This threads about ran its course though. There’s no getting back on topic once we have gotten this far down the rabbit hole. Start another thread…

Well, Fairview made it to a state final before you all did (2012), so whether you thought they were legit or not, they obviously did something right. You aren't really reading anything I say, so it's not worth engaging. The kids at Raceland are great and there are people who work there that honestly do represent the school in an outstanding manner. I also don't know of a person in the area who wasn't rooting for the 2008 team. That group was special and I haven't been alive as long as some of you all, but it was the best group I have personally seen there. It honestly did hurt seeing that time lose in the regional finals; everybody I knew hated that they lost to LCA.

The trash talk on here from you and a couple of others when other schools do good is tiring and it puts Raceland in a poor light. Scotty/Armchair has good posts; I may disagree with him on some things but he actually tries to just focus on analyzing the game instead of trolling like you and one or two others on here. Quit trying to be Ironton South and be Raceland. It's a better look for you.

Get used to it bud.  Raceland has the richest tradition in KY high school football .... to their fans.  They have 0 state titles in the weakest and least competitive class in Kentucky football, they've made it to the dance 3 times in their history and were dog walked in all 3.
#41
In this alignment, yep, the weakest class. In the 4A alignment, not even close to the weakest. You had schools from that alignment stay in 1A and the very next year, some teams they saw in the playoffs jumped to 3 and 4A. Sure 4A teams saw the same thing with teams jumping to 6A. But there’s a big difference in 1A vs 4A and 4A vs 6A. Raceland has always been competing with, and or beaten, the teams in the county and surrounding counties. We are the smallest school excluding Fairview. But always produce similar roster numbers as well. I went there and my kids go there. I was happy, they are happy. Both my boys play football, by their own choosing, one of which didn’t play until his 8th grade year, and he is happier than he has ever been. His entire life changed when he made that decision. So before you go running us through the mud about titles, understand that it is much, MUCH bigger than that.

And I’d rather make it to the dance and get dog walked than start playing basketball the second week of November.

Same here.  At least during football season there is something g worth talking about.  Basketball at Raceland is downright terrible and those months in the Raceland sports world get rough lol.

Oh I know it's much bigger than that, that's why it's hard for me to understand why your fans get on here and dawg other programs. The cherry on top is that you don't have a successful program in terms of winning compared to the top programs in the state and regardless of what you want to believe, there's a reason why the same 4-5 teams have won the last umpteen 1a state championships, and that's because as a whole its not very competitive. So, if one of those 4-5 teams' fans want to get on here and tell others how mediocre their teams are, then kudos to them, but when Raceland fans do it, it feels like a cry to try and fit in a group you don't belong in.

This is an uncomfortable truth for our fan base but if KY had stayed in the 4 class system Raceland would still be getting knocked out of the playoffs in the 1st and 2nd round every year.  In that system Raceland was in a district with LCA and a region with Beechwood and the good NCC teams.

These deep post season runs are a result of the state creating a system that allowed previously mediocre programs like Raceland to make it further in the playoffs.  It’s nice to make it deep in the playoffs now but I think a lot of people forget that prior to the class change Raceland was a middle level program and had no post season success at all.

Thing is it wouldn’t matter. The same people were giving Raceland grief then that they are now. It’s all in fun for me. I want everyone in our area to be successful because good football breeds good football. Idc who gets who. At the end of the day, people go where they want and people send their kids where they think is best for them. The fact that people get butt hurt over people showing support for their program is what bothers me though. The whole purpose of these threads is for hasbeens to have a good time. Everyone needs to lighten up.

Someone shut this one down lol it’s a waste of time at this point. In the 90s it was Beechwood, NCC, Danville, and the like were the villains bc they were winning. In the 2000s it was LCA, NCC, BW. In the 2010s it was LCA, Williamsburg, and Paintsville. Now in the 2020s, it’s Raceland and Pikeville catching hell for transfers, recruiting, etc. the ironic thing is, 90% of the people throwing shade aren’t even in the same class as these teams. It’s always their county counter parts. Winners are always the villains unless they are a dark horse or Cinderella story. I’m over it.

Sooooo in conclusion a poster that is pro Raceland is a big ol’, downgrading, meanie head if they state their school is better than, says their school has better facilities than, says kids wanna come here instead of stay at….insert school name at the end of each statement.

Buuuuuut

If another school says the same thing, it’s justified.

Get it. Got it. Good. Holla if you hear me! Just like the world we live in. Can we for the love of god move on

Soooooo no one said meanie, no one felt bullied, don't flatter yourself here.  I said it sounds stupid when a fan of a mediocre program downgrades other mediocre programs, and from that I said that Raceland wants to feel like they belong in the bully group, but they have been getting picked on for the entirety of their programs' history.

You aren't reading closely yourself. I had said I rooted for the 2008 Raceland team and to add onto that, everybody I know was thrilled for the 2017 Raceland team that made it to state, myself included. That team got the most out of its capabilities and did a terrific job. The kick by LeMaster still gives me goosebumps and it was also fantastic to see Coal Grove, Raceland and Wheelersburg all playing in a state semifinal on the same weekend.

Raceland's posters are getting it in this thread because your fans run down fans of other schools or schools period. Not hard to understand this. So don't play the gaslighting card (a trademark of Ironton's) when locals who are fans of all of the teams or one of those teams you guys throw stones at come back at you.

I don't bash Pikeville because it's just one guy trolling. Most of their people on here are nothing but complimentary. You guys got 3-4 dudes on here coming out with the same tired crap, then want to call foul on everybody else when you're called out on it. Fine by me, but if you want to trash talk you better be expected to get it back.
