I'm proud of Wesley and his staff.. u guys will be surprised if he rolls out 4 or 5 winns in a row heading into district play with all the momentum.
IMO the district is wide open this year. I think Martin has the highest ceiling but has a long way to go. But I think it still goes through them but if pburg gets hot they can win it

Is there a single parent of a current player on the staff? If there is, I can’t think of one?

You’re running up the score.

All I heard before the season was Hager was a joke of a hire. They wouldn’t win 2 games. Should’ve hired so and so. Blah blah blah. Now they have won the first 2 games and one in a blowout and now they are classless? Make it make sense. The same people that were butthurt over the hire are butthurt for the spanking they gave another team. Some of you pburg fans are giving the school a bad look. A lot of ohio state fans and bama fans cheer like crazy when their team beats lesser opponents by 50 plus but it’s horrible of a high school team to do it? You know what? I bet there isn’t a team left on their schedule that will beat them like that and who cares? You dish em out you gotta take em. Quit your whining….

Am I wrong? The old understood rule of thumb was- if you want mercy; pull YOUR starters to signal to the opposing coach you won’t leave varsity in to beat up on his younger kids.
Problem is at some schools with low numbers; there may not be a JV squad. If ER lost to Morgan; they obviously are on the struggle bus.
Maybe discuss it before kick off if your team is really really bad. But honestly; football is no place to seek mercy. It’s a brutal combat sport.
I think sometimes, young coaches, can’t find the gray area between sportsmanship and pity.
He will figure it out; once it gets done to him a time or two.

Nothing needs to be discussed before the game and no one is seeking mercy. You either know it's low rent to do what Prestonsburg did at the end of that game or you don't. Period. But I do agree the coach is young so hopefully he learns better.

I can see both sides of the argument regarding the touchdown. On one hand, I don't think Coach Hager was trying to be disrespectful and run up the score, but he was trying to get a kid a touchdown and got caught up in the moment. On the other hand, I see the frustration being on the losing end of all of this, and putting a score on the board which was meaningless. I think it was with good intention, but the timing of it wasn't thought out. Like I said, I see both sides of the argument, and no doubt Hager will learn from this regardless.
As far as the game, Prestonsburg was the far superior team, and this may have been one of the weakest East Ridge teams in memory. Prestonsburg did what it had to do, and got out of there with a win and no injuries. Paintsville will be the best team they have faced all year, and Paintsville's will field the best line the Blackcats have faced all year. It should be a dandy.

Just like last years matchup I think everyone expects a close game. The boys on both sides always get up for this one!

Hager has done a good job simplifying the offense which has allowed his young line not to have too much responsibility and it has allowed them to gain confidence the last two weeks. Getting Adams back will be huge in regards to adding more physicality, skill, and leadership. Paintsville had a lot of success moving the ball against a very good Paris team, but defensively, they struggled. Paris had the speed to hurt Paintsville, and if Elliott can get healthy and utilized the way Hager intends to use him, it could be a match up problem for Paintsville. Elliott is most effective outside of the tackles, and if the Blackcats can get him in the open field, I like our chances. If they can contain the edges, it will force the Blackcats to try to run through the inside gaps, or put the ball in the air. I look for Paintsville to try and take away the run, and put pressure on our young line to keep Holbrook clean and upright in the pocket. Prestonsburg has the QB and skill players to get it done, but pass blocking has been a serious issue so far. I think this will be our biggest test so far, and they remind you a little bit of Leslie regarding personnel, but they are much better coached, especially on the offensive side of the ball. When it's all said and done, I feel like the Blackcats will be heading into week four with a 3-0 record.
Prestonsburg -28
Paintsville - 26
