Thats a good summary to the game.

I watched a little of this one on and off. Credit that Ram offensive line and those tough backs for running hard all night.

I’ll show you the way haha

This game was strange…but good to watch. I felt we was about to put it away several times and win by a couple scores then bam…..something would happen and it felt like we was gonna lose haha. It was a good competitive game. The refs were very bad. Before a LCC fan gets on here and states that they got screwed….not really. The refs were just bad. I don’t think they were competent to be able to screw a team from winning. I believe the Rams had two touchdowns called back on their final drive.

Raceland had more penalties and penalty yards. 2 holds (were legit) brought back two TDs. They didn’t really affect the play but were holds none the less. If those holds don’t happen…it’s a 3 score game. Stiltner finished with 23 carries for 169 and 2 TDs. Very impressed with his ability to handle that many rushes. Marushi and Ison ran well tonight as well.

Ison was much more efficient tonight. Threw the ball effectively enough that they had to honor it. Defense played well. Thought we handled their big bruising backs well and Smiths speed. Different animal rolls into town next week. Size is similar, but talent, ability, and speed gets amped up several notches.

Nobody rolls into town next week. Bye week

Smith only touch the ball twice before being ejected on a terrible call. 46 had a really good game for LCC.
#11
Ejected on a terrible call???? He threw a punch. You will always get ejected for that.
#12
Yeah, punches to the head/helmet don't really fall under the gray area of subjectivity.
#13
Whoever #2 is for LCC is tough as nails. He can’t be over 5’’4” and MAYBE 140lbs. But he was an extremely hard working kid last night.
#14
Just gonna say it… this Raceland offense would be more explosive with Cooper at QB and Ison at WR. I understand going with the younger kid to prep for the future but if the goal is to win… beating LCC by 7 won’t get them very far in the playoffs.

It’s in Cooper’s blood. His older brother was EKC OPOTY at Lewis County and KCU’s starting QB for a winning season. I really think Cooper at QB would get that Ram offense where yall want it. He would have been Lewis County’s all time leading passer had he returned this season. He’s a gamer. Much better in game than in practice. Hope Raceland gives him a chance to show it.
#15
Okay….dad!
#16
That’s not how things work here. You have to be able to show up and show out. Practice or Game it doesn’t matter. He did not look very good in 7v7 and in scrimmages. Awesome kid and a great work ethic and team first kid. But he did not look the part at QB.
#17
And if their is a a change at QB it will be the other younger kid that moves to QB

I’ll say this for cooper. He is fast as hell in the open field. Maybe should get him the ball more at receiver.

I don’t think the move to Raceland was strictly for football. There was other reasons the family left Lewis County

Idk man…just going off what I’ve been told. You seem to be an expert on the situation though. Maybe we should just as you. You’re awfully interested in what this family thinks is best for their kid though…..always thinking about a child’s game and never thinking about real life and the decisions one have to make.

I know the family fairly well. There is not one thing Raceland High School offers that LCHS doesn’t besides a winning football program.

On second thought… there is one other thing. Maybe that was it.

I think he will be just fine where he’s at. If we get him the ball out in space he can be very dangerous

Some of you guys were crying all the time when Fairview was getting recruits. Now Raceland has become the main beneficiary and it becomes "thinking about real life and the decisions one has to make."

Don't see the difference in what Raceland is doing now vs. what Fairview did 12-14 years ago, but you guys keep telling yourselves whatever it is that makes it a difference in your eyes I guess.

I do admire Raceland's tradition and passion for the game of football and I think they will break through and win a state title eventually. I do think other schools in the area could do more to keep kids at their school, and at Raceland it is clear that the passion is there.

Just proof that two things can be true. I just think it's funny that LCLion4Life is getting raked by you guys for sharing an opinion that is valid.

I appreciate it buddy. And I completely agree with everything you said here. The passion is definitely there in Ramland and I do think they will win a state title eventually. Ram fans just get up in arms when outsiders comment on their team. Never fails.

No one is up in arms lol. Just didn’t agree with your assessment

Personally I wanted Cooper to come in and be the guy. I didn’t want to lose Ison at WR and DB. But atleast through the preseason, Ison looked like the best option. Waller throws a better ball, but doesn’t possess the same physical abilities that Ison does. I think by seasons end we will see all 3 of them getting snaps. Ison and Cooper give you more of a wildcat or dual threat QB. While Waller is more of a traditional pocket QB. I’ve really liked Cooper since day 1. Kid has a great attitude and works his ass off. He just didn’t pass the test to get the starting QB spot.

I remember those days when Ram fans acted super salty about Fairview's transfers. Even remember Raceland's team running through a huge banner saying "Welcome to Huntington West Campus" or something like that. They definitely sing a different tune these days  Big Grin

You are kidding right? What we are doing and what the West wild beagles were doing is daylight and dark dude! We don’t have an apartment complex we are putting kids in and we aren’t sending vans to Huntington to pick kids up and drop off from school either. We don’t recruit. And if we start we will be getting kids from the Huntington/columbus/Cincinnati area. Not the hotbed of football that is Lewis county. We would be getting kids good enough to beat Pikeville. The difference between the Pikeville area and this area is that up there the good players will go where they know they can win. Down here people hate us to much to transfer here to win a state title. Face it…..if you are at Ashland you ain’t winning ? because of Boyle and Corbin and Cov cath. Unless you fudge your student numbers and get put back in 3A again. Boyd co Russell and Greenup all have the same problem. So if I’m worth a shit I’m going to Raceland. If that makes any of you mad I don’t care. But to compare us to the scareview eaglets is just plain stupid.

The real best option for football in this area would be to figure out how to live in Ohio and send your kid to Ironton.
