Leslie County 41 Floyd Central 26
#1
Final from FCHS

Jags controlled the first half, but Leslie County led by Landry Collett's legs took over in the 2nd half and the Eagles made the plays late to pull out the win. I think Collett had 5 rushing touchdowns.

Floyd Central ran the ball very well, but Leslie got a stop late and never looked back.

Congrats Eagles!

How did Superman play?

FC looked in control through the 3rd but then kinda fell apart with about 4 minutes left. Threw 2 interceptions in the last 2 minutes that both resulted in TD's...

WMDJ said FC had 3 possessions in the 4th quarter and each resulted in a turnover.

I didn’t call out a single player. No names

This was a sloppy one! No answer to Floyd’s ground game.

Always good to get a win on the road, but a little concerned that it took such an effort late for Leslie County to win this one. I thought they should have been clear favorites tonight.

Leslie struggles defending the run, but you've got to give their defense credit tonight, they made plays in the 4th quarter.

Leslie's offense started clicking the more Collett kept running the football. He changed this game and gave his team the opportunity to win with his legs. I know their coaching staff probably feels pressure to air it out a ton, but I think they look their best when they run with Collett. There's no reason why he shouldn't run the ball 15+ times a game. He's built like a running back and he's very shifty. They get him running like he did tonight and at times vs. Prestonsburg also that'll open up things for the passing game as well and give those defensive guys a break.

You mean the passing game didn’t win this one for them? That’s interesting.

It was due to the threat if the passing game.  The receivers were the only train the running back was able to pick up 5 touchdowns.  They should get all the credit.

The passing game is a decoy for things like last night, if you don’t have the threat on the outside then the defense will load the box. I know that’s hard to understand for some of you, but that’s how it works. Now next game, teams will honor the run game and will
Open up the pass game. Hope I explained it to where you can understand.
