I guess we're different bac, I'm a fan of less flags not more. Anyone can throw a flag on every play if that's how they roll. Less flags the better and they should be obvious. But not like that one time at Raceland where Pikeville got about 15 flags and Raceland got zero lol

lol I feel the same when Hazard gets 11 and Pikeville gets 2 at Pikeville. The flags I’m talking about being thrown are like blant face mask, Blant holds, and blant pass interferences the calls that are obvious.  Don’t get me wrong I also don’t like to see the flow of a game be disrupted with LOTS of flags, or see them thrown on big plays that it’s something ticky tacky. Basically long story short I want to see ALL players safe.

Never happened, ever. I have seen Pikeville get more bad calls at home than any visitor. Blown call cost Pikeville the game against Covington Catholic a couple years ago. Pikeville doesn't cheat and certainly not against Hazard lol

We’ve had this same conversation before and it was a few years back. I’m not sure what year it was maybe 2021 but not sure. No Pikeville doesn’t have to cheat hazard. I’m just still shocked that Hazard has never won a regular season game at Pikeville.

I'm not. And even if I was I wouldn't blame the refs.

Definitely not blaming the refs, just saying it’s wild that over the years of playing that a win in the regular season has never happen.

It's actually pretty common.
LOL just joking bac. Hazard has had a few teams over the years that were better than Pikeville. Most of those games were at Hazard. And it's very very tough to win at Pikeville regardless, and the refs have nothing to do with it.

Goodnight bac and I hope Hazard drills MC.

Everyone screams hazard has bad refs, or pikeville, or corbin, or who cares. You know what you get when you schedule OUT OF REGION in the KHSAA especially in the mountains. A 13th region team will never get a fair chance in the 14th, and vice versa. Same with the 15th. There’s a reason it’s much easier to win on the road in the playoffs in some of these mountain towns. From my experience, the 14th is tough as about anywhere you go if you are an outsider. But if you really reflect you know your own team is just as bad.

They should blast this

Martin County and I think it will be over before halftime. I think MC will win 49-14 with Hazard scoring a garbage time TD.  QB from MC will have 200 plus rushing yards with 3 TDs on the ground.
#43
How many starters on the offensive line does Martin County have back?

1 maybe 2 if the 2nd one gets back this week. The rest of the line is big and strong and have good technique they just got to start clicking

The question isn't has Hazard improved, but how much have they improved? Martin County lost a lot of skilled lineman last year, but they had a couple of kids that transferred in that has helped to ease the pain. Hazard looks like a completely different team in it's two scrimmages, but how good is Betsy Layne and Bell County this year? Betsy Layne is always overrated, and Bell County lost some studs off of last years team. I think Hazard takes a big step in the right direction, but I feel like Martin County could be overlooked this game. I look for Martin County to win this game and this will propel them to a strong season. Martin County wins 35-28.

I watched Martin County last week at scrimmage. QB for Martin County is very good. Nice arm and knows how to use his legs. Other than him, I wasn’t too impressed with Martin County. If hazard can contain the QB’s running ability it will be a close game. But I believe Martin County will come out on top 28-21
#47
Everyone is forgetting Martin Co had 2 studs transfer there one from JC and one from Paintsville. Don't sleep on the Cards this year. This program is building back to the days of SCHS.

Nothing like these cool mornings to know it’s football season!!!

Why would a stud leave Johnson central? Seems like they’d have a better opportunity there to make a deep playoff run than they would at Martin county.

Never saw a good player leave johnson central

You must not remember Tyrese and Jaylyn Allen.

Give me Martin. 21-14
if the freshman starts over phelfry then maybe a different outcome. Mc has a new qb so may take time to adjust.

What’s Martin County health status for the first game of the season?
#55
Not sure on who will win but I do think we will see that Hazard will be better and improved. Maybe not the Hazard program we think off right off, but heading in that direction.

MC and JC lost in the same round of the playoffs last season just a few miles apart in Covington.

Martin county should be fairly healthy going into the first game. They are going to need their young line to step up and mature fast this year but they have been playing together since 3rd and 4th grade together. They are big and strong and are a physical group but they do make mistakes. If they can block well and cut down on the mistakes they should win this game. But they are extremely young on the line other than 1 senior

I think this game is close will go down to last possession. I don’t see neither team being able stop each other.

34-32 Hazard
#59
Dawgs by at least two TD’s.
#60
Hazards young talent has big game experience and a lot of skill. Martin Co has been trending up the last few years though. This should be a good game but I anticipate Hazard pulling away late in the 3rd quarter to win by 10+.
