Estill County 2 Hazard 0
#1
Estill wins the 14th region and will play Hopkinsville next Friday in the state tournament

Looks like Estill shut Hazard out twice this season. 1 shutout coming in the biggest game of the season. Congrats to the Champs !! I’m happy for the Crowe family

I didn’t think estill had ever won the region, but I heard the broadcasters say they won it in 2009? I had no idea I thought this would be their first. Regardless, congrats to EC and Hazard on great seasons. Represent the 14th well in Lex!

I’m sure glad they let the kids play the games out instead of picking the winner off everyone’s opinion.

Yeah because if they didn't Estill nor Hazard would have been playing in championship.

The unknown is what makes sports great. Seasons are long and unpredictable. We don’t know the outcome till the fat lady sings. Estill & Hazard finished strong and put on a great championship game. Does that mean they were the 2 best teams in the region ? I don’t think so.

Well they were the best come tournament time and in most places that’s all that matters. Some dont value having a good winning season. Great job Engineers

What a great job by Coach Crowe preparing his team and getting them ready to play their best baseball at the right time. Don’t let their record fool you, they ran an absolute gauntlet of a schedule this season and it’s paid off.

I think coaching played a key role in the two teams that made the championship. Everyone counted out Estill and Hazard but yet there they were there. Crowe and Varney prepared them for the postseason through the season. They continued to grow and improve throughout the season and it paid off in the end.
