What happened in the bottom of the 1st when time was called and the umps went over to the dugout?

This is just from what I could tell and this may be wrong so don’t hold me to it.

It looked as though Corbin had two runners on and Whitley got the second out but the umps call it the third out. 

this was a big call. Cima had homered to lead off and that would have kept it a 2-1 game. 

Both teams had already switched fields and was about to throw the first pitch of the second when people started losing it saying it was the second out. They conferenced and reversed course. The next play, Estep drives in both runners and Whitley simply never recovered from that. Honestly if you look at GameChanger and the book, it was the right call, but there may have been something else that was being argued like base position and force out on that dropped ball I honestly don’t know. I didn’t see much fight from shope so I just assumed at the time he agreed. 

Looking back at it now, Whitley probably should have rolled the dice and saved Allen for Corbin. But that’s why the draw matters and that district game matters. Corbin was set up to win the minute they won district and got that top side.

True but Philpot has been there for years. Shope was just starting to build up a bad program and just started getting his players 3-4 years ago. Time will tell if that’s the case if those numbers flip soon.

I’ll have to dis agree shelton from Cumberlands knew what talent was fixing to go through the high school, so that’s why he went and got a pretty good coach not taking anything away from shope but he was gifted a very talented roster, it was already built he just managed it, now you see them slowly goiing back to Whitley co of old, he’s out first job opening he likes

The plate umpire called obstruction when Walker threw his bat at Hunter’s feet trying to break up a play on the bunt. So that was the third out and teams switched sides. Until they decided they had made the wrong call ?

Corbin playing really good baseball right now.. I was impressed with Philpot in District and Region Championship games this season.. Hoping the Hounds can win it all this season.. Go Hounds…
