Top 5 teams pre-season
1.Hazard
2. Breathitt
3. Knott
4. Perry
5. Wolfe
Here’s why, Hazard lost no one, so they are the favorite, Breathitt loses Bellamy and Hamilton but return Sperry and the 2 bigs, Knott loses Huff and Haddix but also return a nice young group, Perry loses Slone, and Castle and Kilburn transferred, but they do return Trayton woods, and if Flinchum stays at Wolfe, they will
Be in the mix. But it’s hazards to lose

1. Eversole hazard
2. Sperry Breathitt
3. Caudill hazard
4. Flinchum Wolfe
5. Slone Knott
And I won’t rank Noah because he didn’t play last year, but at the end of this season, he will be a top 2/3 player in region

Losing Kilburn was a true blow to the program at Perry Central. I am sure they will have to shut down the basketball program now. They will never be able to recover. Leslie is already getting ring sizes.

Perry returns some nice players in Woods, Miller and Sumner. They may come up a little short in the “bigs” department and that will hurt.
Hazard comes back strong with two excellent players in Eversole and Caudill, who I consider to be their best all around player. Good role players also. I see Knott being a weaker team than last year but who knows. Wolfe has a couple strong players in Flenchem and Creech, while Flenchem is the best shooter by far I think Creech has more complete game at this time, but maybe not. As for Breathitt? If they can find or develop a guard who can shoot and handle the ball to complement Sperry and another guard that plays defense like Hamilton they will contend. No team will match Gross and Terry under the basket. And, their bench will the deepest in years. I would point out that Breathitt has beaten Hazard in 3 of the last 4 games that matter. All A and two regional semis. Should be a fun year.

Combs and Ratliff both better be working this summer. The way Kincaid came on during the season there’s no way he can sit on the bench next year

I just meant that Creech seems to play a little harder on both ends of the court.

Have heard that the Pipeline over at Circle T has been opened back up. Some new pieces will be added to the puzzle. Things could get interesting if the kids coming in are as good as advertised.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… John Noble is a great coach. He gets the most out of his players. However, he still has to compete with Perry and Hazard. Leslie won’t make it out of district tournament this year, Kilburn or no Kilburn. I understand being optimistic, but sometimes you have to be real as well….

It’s Hazard’s to lose next year unless Breathitt gets Flinchum back. If not I’ll take Hazard & Perry for the right to go to Rupp.
Who keeps pumping the Kilborn kid? lol must be the Dad or a close relative.
