I wonder if he will take Hamilton with him. Hamilton was supposed to play at Shelby Valley, but transferred to LCC.

well

Josh or Matt Hurt
Or they bring back Winston Lee
#8
Big turnover in LCC Athletics. I am hearing they are eyeing an assistant coach in another region with family connection to the school. But they are expecting a good list of candidates.
#9
I'd love to see Matt Hurt make a return to the 14th Region.

Letcher's athletic department is absolute trash. Turnover after turnover after turnover.
#11
Didn't they go after Holland before Taylor? Could that be an option?
#12
All LCC sports decisions and coaching selections at LCC goes thru the football coach and his family..
#13
Show Shelby Valley they were wrong in firing Tyler McCoy and hire him as your coach. He knows the game. Good coach. He was dealt a bad hand at Valley.
#14
Bryan Howard should be offered 1st and would be the perfect hire, but who knows what they do cause they were warned before hiring that idiot Dean again. Now whether Bryan will take it is another question but would be who the county will rally around.
#15
I've heard the assistant under Matt Taylor is going to be the first offer.
#16
Don’t matter who they bring in, still gonna lose.
#17
Howard led Whitesburg back to the sweet 16 his sr year then played at transy for 4 yrs, was an assistant under Lee then has been coaching middle school girls then took over the Whitesburg middle school boys this past year. Would be a the perfect homerun hire if he wants it, should be asked and offered first & would also prevent kids from leaving and have more come back out plus he’s a great person.

I’ve also heard Honeycutt name mentioned but may be cause he applied for it last time, nothing from anyone saying he was interested just a name brought up. I’m sure noble is in the running as well being the assistant under Taylor these 3 yrs.
#18
Brian Johnson is the name most are saying for the job, former Jenkins hc and outstanding player along being a great referee in the 14th.
#19
Hearing a guy from the 16th Region is interested
#20
Heard it could be Matthew Perry from Bath.
#21
Johnson & Howard are the front runners for the job, Johnson works for the BOE already & Howard for Childers oil so no job has to be created for the hire. Not that is the only reason they’re the leaders, both would do excellent and be homerun hires for the program. Now if they turn it down then who knows what direction they’ll go.

Has Robert Paul Amis applied?

You really think someone who hasn't coached high school basketball in 10 years is the right guy for the job?

Does he ref? Just trying to make sure I am thinking of the right person.

He’s been one of if not the top referee in the 14th for yrs & has been to the sweet 16 several times as well. He's been around the game since he left coaching so it’s not like he’s been away completely. He’s well respected and thought of in the community, will be a great hire for lcc.

Junior Newsome was out of high school coaching for 11 years, I think before he came out of retirement in 2008 to coach Betsy Layne again. Won several district titles and an All A State title, so it just goes to show, if you know basketball and how to coach it, it's like riding a bicycle. Unless of course, you have parents who think they know all and can pull strings behind the scenes.

Which is usually the case at LCC. I'm just surprised Taylor's assistant coach isn't getting the job. Figured Nobel was next in line.. But Johnson may keep him on as an assistant.
