What is everyone's thought on this one...don't quote me but I believe this will be like a live game w/clock...not the 10 and out like last week at Belfry

Good luck to both teams on this one !

It will be a great game....This gives JC the chance to get even better for North Laurel. This also gives shelby Valley a good work out also. Good luck to both teams.

This gives everyone that is a JC supporter like myself to get a glance of the team this season...as I was out of the country last week when they made the tract to Pond Creek

Valley will need all the luck they can get. Hopefully after this game they will have enough players to play in the Pike County Bowl. I hear they are down to about 27 players and their starting QB may be lost for the season.

How did this game go?

The score when both varsity squads took a seat was JC 35- SV 0 at the end of the 3rd quarter. This scrimmage was run like an actual game in its format. JC dominant the game from the 2nd series of offense on til both varsities took a seat. Once again the JC defense was solid, i think they held Shelby Valley under 100 yds offense. The offense of JC started slow but picked up as the game went along. The QB was good throwing the ball around the field to a number of different recievers. JC used a lot of different backs in the backfield along with alot of different formations. Good job Eagles but now its time to get focused on the real season which starts with North Laurel friday. Good Luck to both teams on a successful and injury free season.

After this game this evening it looks as if we can't talk about Ron Blume anymore because I believe that he has been replaced well by Welch and Grim. The only complaint that I have is the secondary is still weak like last year but I only know that these boys will work harder and get better...by the way Grim...you ain't Reggie Bush quit jumping up in the air...you look like a deer in the headlights...lol

Does he jump in the air when he's crossing an empty goal line or when he has the ball trying to go through traffic..when I would pick a pass off in HS or college I took it as far as I could and then dove when people were coming from the side or head up to get all I can get...Either way, if you work that hard for a TD, an INT, or a good amount of YAC I really don't see a problem with it.

The kid was diving over another to try to get in the endzone while tip toeing the sideline. I thought it was a good play, it actually started as a run to the left and he saw a seam and cut it back to the right and took it 27 yds for the TD. The only thing i didnt like was that he might get hurt in the process of doing it but you just have to know this kid.

I think JC looked awesome! They used alot of different options on offense...not just one or two options like last year. Opposing teams are going to have to work a little harder to defend this year IMO.
Grim looked awesome as usual. The jumping thing is dangerous I know, but as coach says this kid would fight a bear to score. He's a tough kid and he's going to do what he has to score.
Now let's get ready for North Laurel and start this season off right.
Wasn't that an amazing crowd for a scrimmage last night?

I was just joking about the jumping thing...I talked to him after the game and me and him talked and I was giving him a hard time about it...and we just laughed

So how did Valley look? Have they improved any since their last scrimage?

Valley look pretty solid at times during the game but the JC defense was just to much and they made alot of stops in the backfield. The offense showed at times that they had some weapons when they could get some blocks, the QB did a pretty good job of throwing the ball around, and the defense was pretty solid in the early parts of the scrimmage. I could see SV making the playoffs at years end as the 4 seed behind Belfry, P-burg, and Sheldon Clark.

IMO, the Eagles were a little sluggish the other night. It just looked like to me that they were going through the motions! To me it seemed like a little let down after the great pre-season game against Belfry.
Saying that it was an awesome atmosphere at the NEST friday night.....The JCHS team looked like an army coming on the field...How many kids do they have out anyway? I counted at least 75 not counting the kids not dressed on the sideline.

The motions must have been winning ones. This football team will never be a let down. They look awesome no matter what they do. They will be on fire throughout the season. :runtouchd
