Final. A very entertaining opening game to the tournament. The Hornets will play the Spencer Co./Great Crossing winner on Friday at 11:00am. Congrats to Magoffin County!

Perry showed who they truly were today. This should have been a W for the 14th region but Perry was like the 4th best team this year.

Awesome!!! Congrats to the Magoffin Co.

Magoffin just done what not many 15th region teams have done and that is win a game at Rupp. Looking at Bracket they get Spencer County/Great Crossing winner which will most likely be great Crossing who has a 7 footer with a UK offer

I’d say the likelihood of MC beating Great Crossing is about 0.01 but I’d they do I’ll be at Rupp Saturday

Congratulations Magoffin County

Congratulations to the hornets and everyone can see what I have been saying about Perry, we are just not athletic enough, Carter and kizer do well, kizer had 12 rebounds and Carter had 8 but other then those 2 we can’t rebound, if we had a kid to offset that, we would have won this game. Either way congratulations to the hornets and good luck Friday, definitely gonna need it, and a great year by Perry, no reason to hang your heads!!

No such thing as a best team in the 14th this year. That changed from week to week and day to day. Perry was the best team when it counted. The region was as bad as I've seen it in 40 years. Anyone that didn't win can only blame themselves.

This game may have been the worst opening round game in my recent memory. Both teams were terrible. That game was as ugly as a Gerald Howard and Neal West’s golf game. Congrats Hornets on advancing to the quarters. I bet with the crowd they had in Lexington today it’s standing room only at the Golden Corral for the victory celebration.

Great Crossing is good have a 7ft but not great, but this might be the weakest State Tourney I have seen in years. Good luck to all.

You might be right but everyone else in the 14th 15th and 16th is at the house.

Magoffin played terrible for almost 3 full quarters. Definitely wasn’t the same team that came out against Martin County in Region finals. Guessing it was butterflies. They finally started hustling and getting after it late in the 3rd and the 4th. Idk why Perry quit going to Castle. He got very few touches in the 2nd half and I don’t believe he had more than 2 points after halftime.

As for the quarterfinals on Friday, if we’d play GC, we will have to play the game of our lives. We most certainly CANNOT come out like we did today. We will have to get a body on the big man and clear him out of the lane. There’s not one person on our team that can out jump him for a rebound. We gotta eliminate second chance points. I’m just assuming we’ll play GC. I know nothing about Spencer County.

Proud of our guys at Perry. Most everyone wrote them off but they were still playing when the rest of the 14th was at home. Nothing for them to hang their heads over.
#16
Too many easy missed shots by Perry as usual!!! and why they quit going to castle is beyond me ,he was their bread and butter in the first half .Some players need to know their role in certain situations and that is the coaching staffs fault! we did not press enough either. but hats off to magoffin on the win

Gonna be alot of Maroon an White in Cowboys tonite. Wish The Continental Inn was still standing for them to celebrate in.

Congratulations, Hornets.  Castle is the one guy since the Super started, that made all the right in-game adjustments.

Great Crossing has only lost 1 game this season, to a team from Virginia in the Beach Ball Classic during a holiday tournament, and that lost was by 3 in triple overtime. Yes, the are good and they are great. I believe they will win it all Saturday, state champs.

To get on here and talk about how down the region is an all shows how classless some of you people are. Has anyone EVER FEARED the 14th Region in any sport? No. So we can say the region has been down since the beginning of sports and regions in Ky. Perry did about as good as any 14th region team ever done. So please congratulate and stop all the negativity. Nobody even counted on them to be there. Congratulations Commodores.

Seen them play multiple times and there schedule wasn't the greatest but down year for High School Basketball in Ky Imo. Warren Central last year much better than them to me, but to each is own.

Perry was the preseason favorite.
I think M.C. Napier and Hazard won state championships on the girls side. The 86 Hazard team lost in the boys semifinals in a very controversial game. Seems like yesterday.
The 14th hasn't been that good lately, but this year was the worst. Congratulations to Perry for getting here and pushing Magoffin all the way. I picked them to win the region last summer.

Always a busy week so I've not gotten to check in, but I can always count on some negativity towards the Commodores and Jet Fighter going on about not having a football player from another school on the court.

Magoffin County made the adjustments down the stretch and won the winning minutes. Unfortunately, they were rewarded with a game against Great Crossing and that didn't go well. Phenomenal season for that community.

Bottom line is this Perry team was left for dead in January and no one thought they could get to this point. They can take in the rest of the weekend and get back to work for next season. Bulldogs will be a tough out for everyone in the 14th this coming season.

Just stating the obvious.  If Perry had Noah we would have won the game.  And he could have led us to our playoff home win and our trip to Rupp.  Not sure how many times Perry has done that, but had we had one big kid like Noah, this would have been the year in my opinion. regardless, great year by Perry and good luck to what’s left in the sweet 16

I hope you are the kids dad cause if not, it’s kinda creepy.

He has to be all he ever goes on about is noah so he's either a creepy stan or his dad I'm assuming by posts it's his dad who puts some of the same exact things on his Facebook. Kid has never played a min of jv or varsity an they think he's gonna lead a team to rupp its ridiculous! If yall ever seen him at park league you'd agree with me can't dribble outside shot is ugly definitely not leading any team to rupp not even sure he'd start for any teams other then leslie cordia an jackson city!

I’ve been accused of being so many kids dad on here I can’t keep up with it.   No I’m not Noah’s dad or any relation, but the kid is special on the field and court!  Led us to a playoff win and could have led us to a deep run in state tourney had he been asked to play , watch what he does next year at Leslie!!  Have a safe and blessed day folks.

I’ve saw him play at the city courts, not impressed. Please hush. You’re making yourself look more foolish each post you make. Everyone knows the kid has no varsity experience and if he was as good as you act, I’ll guarantee Hoskins would’ve asked him to play.
#29
Jet fighter gonna look like a fool when noah isn't the superstar in real life an it's only in his fantasy a kid that has no experience will never be a sperry or flinchum who are two of the best in this region in my opinion we got the blue an gold ready for flinchum if he ever decides he wants to leave wolfe! But leslie can keep noah he wouldn't even be 10th man off the bench here I'm not sure why jet aka pops can't be happy with him just playing football instead of trying to push his delusional garbage on everyone an in the words of jet an brex yall stay blessed now
#30
I’m just confused that Shannon was suppose to ask him to play this year. Is this normal because I always thought kids just come out and played. Jet can you elaborate some on this please. Honest question not stirring the pot.
