This was a lot closer than the final score shows.  Raceland pumped the gas in the 2nd half and ran away with it.  Paris fought hard but just ran out of gas at the end.  The Paris players played hard and have nothing to hang their heads about.

I agree.  Paris will give teams like Sayre and KCD trouble in the playoffs but they just aren’t at the level of Pikeville or Raceland.  It’s a shame RPI will likely have our teams meeting before Kroger this year.

I disagree….this game was never in doubt. Paris wasn’t able to move the ball at all. They had a big play to start the second half then scored. Their second score was set up by one of the best catches I’ve seen in high school, aided by a bad pass interference call a couple played later. That was the only two time in the game they had the bal inside the 35 yard line. Raceland played flat …. exactly how I thought they would after sleep walking the last two weeks. I missed the final score by 6 points haha. This game wasn’t close because Pairs was never gonna be able to score enough points.

I like it when teams take the run away from us. We have some pretty good athletes that stand on the edges and don’t get involved in the game as much as they should. We are better throwing the ball then we are running it cause we can’t run block at all.

True they didn’t have enough dogs to keep it close. But If this Paris team had our coach or Pikevilles coach they would be a serious problem for a lot of teams. They lack discipline and a sense of urgency. They literally wasted all six timeouts just trying to get personnel on the field. They are big up front and can play. Love the Paris QB. Kids a freshmen and took some of the most. Vicious hits I’ve ever seen and stood in there and took it and made some throws and kept getting back up. Jakari Ransom is legit. Guy can flat out play. Rams have to learn to keep a cool head in chippy games.

They definitely got some players. Told my buddy during the game that the Paris kids deserved better cause their coaching staff is t much. There’s no discipline on that team at all. Hell at one point T in the game the ref was fighting with the Paris parents. Though for sure somebody was gonna go to jail. Fun times hahah I loved it

You’re right about them not being able to move the ball. Before they scored the first touchdown we got a unsportsmanlike like on them which would have made it 3rd and 18 but while they were enforcing the penalty one of our bone heads jaws with their bench and gets an unsportsmanlike and they off set. Then they throw a Hail Mary and score off of it in 3rd quarter. Up to that point they had 39 total yards in the game. And the other TD we bone headed up too. Can’t do that against the Pikevilles of the world.

Boys…..I gotta say this RPI thing is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. We are still behind the team we just pasted and a team that’s only played one game in a month.

I don't think it's official until Sunday morning.  Could be wrong though.

But if you look at the scoreboard at the bottom of the RPI website.  It shows Paris 7-0.  So the games haven't been updated yet.

So if it stayed like this Pikeville/Raceland wouldn't meet till Kroger. Problem is Raceland has LCA left to play which will leapfrog Paris back over Raceland because Paris has an easy schedule going forward.

And it’s looking like we may not play a few guys next week or LCA week.

I agree, I mentioned in the game thread, Paris reminded me of a really good middle school football that uses their natural athletic ability to win games but no actual strategy other then to run as fast you can to the outside, and throw it up and let your best receiver win the jump ball.  For example, after Raceland scored their 2nd TD, they kick off and the ball is about to roll out of bounds at the 5 yard line, player from Paris picks it up, and instead of gaining 30 yards, with a penalty, he gets gang tackled by Raceland at the 4yd line.  Paris has athletes, but there was no game plan to put the athletes in position.

Something else I notice was their lack of urgency especially on offense.  They had several plays where the players walked from 15 yards down field back to the huddle after a play and the result was either a delay of game, burning a timeout, or rushing to get the snap off.

Defensively I was actually impressed and they seemed to have more discipline on that side of the ball.  They made Raceland work all night long until they finally broke from getting worn down.  If they had a structured offense to complement the defense they could be a dangerous team.
