If Martin County continues to have #11 at QB more and Maybe even start him there instead of out wide they could  be a dangerous team. Their defense has been there all year.

In the last 3 games Prestonsburg has scored a total of 27 points. They were averaging 34 points per game in the first 4 games. I don't really know what's happened, but it does seem like in the last 2 games especially that both BL and MC had Prestonsburg's offense scouted to a T. Just felt like they knew what was coming and there guys were in place to make a stop or play every snap. Coaches have to find a way to make this offense more unpredictable and some players honestly need step it up.

Lots of football left to play, still a chance at hosting a home playoff game and honestly that was my goal for this team in the preseason. Next week Pburg is on a BYE and I feel like it's much needed. Absolutely need to get some guys healthy and others just need to recharge their batteries. Football is a mentally and physically grueling sport that takes a toll on teams that lack depth and experience. I think that's a lot of the problem with this bunch right now.

As for Martin County, they were able to do what they wanted tonight on the ground and their defense had Pburg sniffed out all game long. Much needed win for that program to begin district play.

I have no idea how Coach Brewer still has that job. I hear he is a great guy. But that offense is absolute garbage and easily scouted. 

Martin County seems to be figuring it out offensively. Defense has showed up all year. Getting better every week is what it is all about. Should be a team poised to make some noise come playoffs.

Pburg needs to obsess over every game on their schedule at this point. Some where some one said they had bigger goals than beating Bestsy Layne. What are they? Because it must not be winning their district. So at this point what are the goals. Derosset has been gone for a long time now.

Hosting a home playoff game?

Yeah, that's a very reasonable goal for this team.

I really don't think many understand how young and inexperienced this team truly is.

3 starters is all that returned on each side of the ball. QB and RB2 are freshman. 3 linemen are sophomores. Defense starts two freshman and at some points started 3. The two leading tacklers on the team are a sophomore and freshman. The dude leading the team in interceptions is a senior, but he hadn't played football since middle school. Two of the starting linemen have only been playing football for 3 years.

Facts are, you have a lot of youth and inexperience on this team and they've been in physical football games about every week. No game has been a blow out. They've had to grind some wins out and guys are just banged up right now and need a BYE week. Like I said, this game is physically and mentally grueling.

Now I'm not making excuses for the last two games. The effort we seen in both games are inexcusable. The offense is WAY too talented to be struggling the way they are. I believe in this coaching staff, but things have to change and change fast. This BYE week is crucial for a lot of reasons, but things need to get back on track before these boys get off the bus at Floyd Central in a few weeks. The Floyd Central game is without a doubt gonna make or break this team. It's absolutely a must win game for Prestonsburg.

Everything finally clicked on both sides of the ball for Martin County this week, it was a good way to open up district play. The schedule they have played this season will pay off come playoff time.
