Mercer County 48 Danville 10

Danville gets walloped for the third game in a row dropping to 0-4 for the first time since 1925. Danville administration’s new direction is an abject failure. The results speak for themselves. While area schools build their football programs Danville administration has imploded theirs.

It really is a sad situation. It's unbelievable that one of the premier programs in the state has fallen this far. They aren't even competing in games at this point. It would almost have to be intentional to ruin a program this bad.

Local politics... it's just gross!

Worst Danville team in history. Really sad what people outside the football program can do to destroy that program.

No one other than Clay Clevenger would have done well here, because the community is/was so torn. They may struggle to find anyone very good to ever want this job.

It should've been obvious to the admin that Clevenger should've been rehired when the job came open last year. He was still in the building and was clearly hoping he'd get his old gig back, turning down other jobs that came his way over 2 years. It seemed like the obvious thing to do except for those in admin and I think the heat over it is a why the superintendent bounced after less than a year.

There were some on this board that downplayed Clevenger as a coach but if you look at where things stand now his Somerset team is 3-1 (and could easily be 4-0) and the Ads can't even get 10 yards against Boyle County.

My thing is if the Ads go winless this year, who gets heat for that? Anyone? I think something has to give somewhere with yet another superintendent coming in by the spring.

This is spot on. We all know Somerset technically should be 4-0 even the KHSAA said so, "Thanks officials", but yet they could easily have two loses with Russell Co. Saying "thanks officials". Point is Clevenger has already got numbers up, a winning record, kids buying in, community buying in, and that's just the first year. Danville missed it by a mile not bringing him back, but many of us in Somerset are thankful for the Danville administration decision. Lol

Regardless they need to give Parks time. Even still he may end up not being the guy for the job, but this is much more than just a rebuild from Danville. It’s basically a total tear down and start from scratch. Right now the entire County, Danville included, is just a farm system for the Rebels.
