Bell, Clay, Knox, McCreary, Rock
#1
This district should be a lot of fun to watch this year. Star studded with the likes of Partin, Rice, Thomas all coming back. Bell remains top dog for another year. Should get a lot more competitive after the '23 season.

1-Bell
2-Clay
3-Rock
4-Knox
5-McCreary

They very well may end up being the best in this district next year but I’m not ready to crown Bell top dog. After all, Knox beat Bell and Clay this year and they return a large majority of their team including Partin. This should be a very competitive district, time will tell if anyone from it can compete at the region or state level.

Clay County finally moves to 3A and into a district that at least gives you some potential hope of a district push or even playoff victory. Bell will/should be the favorite but those other teams are pretty evenly matched as far as the offseason is concerned.

I like this district. Clay County is my darkhorse in this district for 2023. Rice and Allen duo will be hard to stop.

Agreed this move may have help Clay more than anyone in the State.

I think it helps Knox just as much or maybe even more. The Panthers get away from Corbin and now are chasing Bell County to be the top of the district. I think that it is a realistic goal for Knox to beat Bell for district titles considering that they beat the Bobcats last year.

Bell is at the top tell someone knocks them off. Don't sleep on Rock tho. Last season had some big injuries early in the year. This year they have Just about everyone returning.

Knox Central proved Bell can be beaten last season. Should be some fun games in that district. I think Knox, Rock, Clay are all capable on a given night to pull off a win. Bell no doubt is the favorite.

Knox won’t win but a couple games now that Chadwell left for North. Knox only lost one game with Chadwell in first five games, how many Knox lose after Chadwell left? Now KC best lineman transfers to North. I think KC will be last in district even with Partin kid. If I was the Partin kid I’d be headed to Corbin where he can play Boyle for State Championship.

Partin would be a big boost to Corbin's backfield along with Bailey from Somerset. The only question is would he move? Isn't Partin's dad the principal at KC? Unless he got a job at Corbin, I think it'd be hard for his son to move. Then again, when is Steve Jewell retiring? Could it be this spring?

From the stats it looks like Chadwell only had 250yds and 1 TD in 5 games and 24 tackles. If you remove the South Laurel game it was 4 games with 120yds and no TDs and 18 tackles. So I’m not sure how much he really played into wins or loses, Partin took care of the offensive production to win those games.

Also from what I was told the lineman wasn’t a starting offensive lineman until late in the year when injuries took out a couple lineman. I think he started defensive line though and is a huge kid.

Coach Buckner will have them ready going into his second season and honestly I see Knox winning at least 7 games, maybe more and competing for their district and region. I feel like Bell, Clay and Knox will be very evenly matched. As for Partin, I can’t see any reason he goes anywhere when he’s been at Knox his whole life and now has a legitimate chance to win district and maybe more. The winning 2 games comment is laughable and as a player moving to Corbin would have zero benefit to the kid. Just ask the last Knox Co running back who transferred there how much Corbin helps with recruiting and how quickly they forget about their senior transfers after football season is over.

This may sound crazy but I could see Knox playing as many or more playoff games this year than Corbin if in fact Corbin has to face Boyle in round 3 with the new districts.

It is going to be a fun district. No doubt. Glad to have Clay back on Bell's schedule.

It's been a few years since Clay could compete with bell would love to see a competitive game. Also hope Rock and Bell get back to the rivalry they once had. District has potential to be very fun. Partin might be the best overall player in southeastern Kentucky. Tired of watching baseball!

If rumors are true it sounds as if Rockcastle is making moves to compete for top spot in this district. If they do in fact add Warren and Johnson to their team then that turns their offense and defense up another level.

Does this put Rock as the top dog for 2023 in this district? I’d like to see the Clay game and Bell game to see what everyone is holding. I like a passing attack and Clay has a good one coming back this year.
