The defense brings back enough experience in some key positions to be one of the last 3 teams standing IMO.

4/21 4A 3rd round predictions.

1. Boyle

2. Corbin/Johnson Central.  Corbin beats JC 2tds regular season. Smile

3. Franklin County

4. Covington Catholic
I think that Covington Catholic is going to be much better than most BGR members expect. From what I understand, CCH returns all of their top skill players from last year's team, which IMO was better than Johnson Central and as good or better than Corbin. I would not be shocked if an undefeated Johnson Central meets Covington Catholic for the regional title on the road. I don't think that there is going to be much difference between Corbin, Johnson Central, and Covington Catholic. Any one of the three could make it to Kroger Field but Johnson Central and Covington Catholic are facing the toughest road.

Franklin County will end up ranked higher because after the 3rd round 2 of those teams will be eliminated. Franklin County seems to always be in that 4th round game.

They are worthy.

I disagree. Franklin County was not close to Covington Catholic last year and they lose considerable talent from that team, including Moorman, Galloway, and Claudio. There is no way that Franklin County will be better than Covington Catholic next season.

Hoot, you are on some good stuff this evening. Franklin County was rolling in the playoffs last season and so was Corbin. Franklin County in that 4th round game the last few years would play as good as the team that beat them if they lost. You better drink some coffee. Wake up!

It's a lot easier to roll through the playoffs if you are playing teams from the west. Franklin County was not in the same league as Covington Catholic last season. I guess you didn't get that memo.  Smile

Franklin County gave up 49 points to Corbin and Covington Catholic gave up 33 points to Frederick Douglass, after trailing only 14-6 at halftime. If you really believe that Franklin County was better than Covington Catholic was last season, you are definitely partaking in something stronger than I am consuming.

I think Franklin plays their best ball in the playoffs, definitely would’ve hung with cov cath last year and maybe beat them. I have no clue what they will look like this year with out a few they are losing.

All you need to worry about is Corbin leaving tread marks on your forehead.

I'm not worried about Corbin at all, Mr. Adopt-a-Team. If anybody is going to leave tread marks on foreheads it will be Zack McCoart and his teammates. Johnson Central will not be bringing a finesse team to Corbin.

Corbin is gonna smoke some eagle hind end. I'm a Colonel until the end. I don't adopt anybody.

Inexperience is what beat JC last year at Corbin. Bigger experienced O line this season. Last years team had a good season but very young. New QB last season. All new starting line last year except for the center and out rushed Corbin’s best team in a couple years last season’s game. Not sure who wins but it will be interesting.

Corbin beat Franklin. That’s what makes Franklin better than Cov Cath, in the eyes of Corbin fans. Lol

I think Franklin County in a playoff atmosphere like last season when it’s elimination game comes to play. I watched both Johnson Central and Franklin County games. I also watched Boyle and Frederick Douglass game in person. I watched Pikeville vs Covington Catholic game streamed. I was asked by some from opposing teams what I thought about the Boyle/Corbin game, when most said Corbin didn’t have a chance, I said it would be a close game. I think if Franklin County could show up week in and week out like they do in those 4th round games like they have the last 4 years they might win a few more of the 4th round games. Covington Catholic is a very good team. But Frederick Douglass seemed to lose there offensive fire power after the Boyle game. They seemed to struggle comparing their first part of the season up to the playoffs. I also contribute that to the score being somewhat close and it being a playoff elimination game. You guys can jump on the Covington Catholic bandwagon but I don’t think they beat JC or Corbin or Boyle in 2023.

Is there any questioning whether the Douglass game will be moved locations or is construction still going good at the Stadium? I drove by the other day when in town and it looks like they are really making some progress. I know they didn't schedule a home game until then so the stadium would have time to be completed.

If it’s not, that’s just a better excuse for Tommy to back out! He is used to backing out and not playing big games. Definitely struggles with scheduling big games. Maybe his schedule this year is a front. It’s all about looking good around here.

This.  My thoughts exactly.

He likes them 12-1 13-1 seasons. The rest is the kids fault.

How much did he pay Leslie Co?  Then our players ride to Commonwealth Stadium this year on his yellow dogs…

Give Hazard props. Greer is scared of good competition on the road. Pikeville should have home field this year but no too damn scared.
