Who are your top teams going into next year for the 14th region?
I think
1. Breathitt
2. Perry
3. Knott
4.letcher
5. Hazard
This is just right now no speculation on transfers, just what teams will return

May need to make a new thread after the transfer portal closes this summer but IF everyone stays put and nobody adds anything…
It will be Perry’s to lose as they lose Knight & Day but return 4 of their 6 leading scorers in Slone, Woods, Castle and Beverly.
Breathitt loses 4 of their top 5 scorers but return region MVP Sperry and shooter I. Bellamy. I could see Sperry moving on to a more competitive team but we’ll say he stays for now.
Hazard loses 3 of their top 5 scorers in Hazell, Smith & Johnson but return shooters Caudill and Eversole. Their biggest loss of all though I believe will be the loss of Al Holland. If he actually hangs it up that is. They’ll have to pick up some players to compete with Perry I would think.
Knott returns their 3 leading scorers so they may try to play spoiler but in the end Perry will be the team to beat.
A lot of talent will be graduating from the region in: Hazell, Johnson, Smith, Bellamy, Collins, Combs, Hoskins, Hensley, K Adams, Nichols, Day, Knight, Benton, Watterson, Thompson, among others.
Like I said, in the end I believe it will be Perry’s to lose in the 2023-2024 season.

Perry-- Slone, Beverly, Woods, Castle all returning
Knott-- haddix, slone, and a great young group
letcher-- huff, dixon, and boggs are all back
hazard-- caudill, eversole, and some young kids
bretahitt-- SPERRY, I. Bellamy
Im sure thing will change this summer with recruiting, but if they stay the same, thats how i rank them..

I look for a lot of moves over the next few months. Could see some leaving Perry possibly to go to Hazard. Could see Beverly possibly going to a new region. Could see Sperry leaving. I would if it was me. Kid is a serious player. Letcher could possibly have a few move in to go with what they have already in place.

Breathitt better get some pieces if they want to keep Sperry around. Ritchie supposed to be moving to place over in Chavies soon according to what I heard yesterday. So could mean he is Perry Central bound. Look for Breathitt to make a counter offer.

I reckon Skylar Ritchie bought big farm at Chavies but he's going to drive back to Breathitt to school.
03-22-2023, 12:10 PM
perry is the favorite unless they lose a kid or 2 and rumors are spreading

Skylar could be a good basketball player in the 14th. Not great but good. He has to get mentally tough and work harder because the last few years it just seems he’s going through the motions. He’s 6’6” in the 14th. There’s no reason he shouldn’t be a double double machine. He should gobble up every rebound that comes off the glass. I hope he mentally sets his mind to it and make a difference wherever he ends up.

I’ve been hearing rumors daily about Perry losing some players. I’m like you gambler, they stay together, they would be #1 pick. Heard that 3 could possibly be leaving.

I’ve not heard any rumors of anyone leaving, but I know for a fact that at least 1 of their starters isn’t happy. That came straight from his mouth.

Skylars grandpa hates breathitt but he’s love for skylar to start for the bobcats. You’re probably wondering that don’t make sense, but let me explain it. See the Ritchie’s for some odd reason think breathitt county has always snubbed them when it comes to sports and they have taken it personally. However grandpa would walk through fire for skylar to experience what the bobcats did a couple weeks ago at Perry central. Will grandpa swallow his pride and let skylar play for the cats? Only time will tell

Him and Gross at 6’8 and 6’6 will be a killer high low action. Sperry, Hamilton and Bellamy will be just as good as there is in the 14th. Don’t be surprised if the bobcats go back to back if they can close that same team out
03-22-2023, 05:07 PM
Wouldn’t surprise me at all.

skylar and gross are not enough to push breathitt to the ship.. they will need a lot more to beat pcc or letcher shoot knott will be better then breathitt

With the addition of Skyler Ritchie Breathitt has a very good chance to repeat. They will have the best Big man in the region and the best player in Austin Sperry. Isaac Bellamy will have a huge impact on both ends of the floor and Jaxon Hamilton is another good shooter. Braxton Terry will be one of top rebounders in the region and at 6’6 Cannon Gross is another big body that can have a good year if he puts in the work.
Breathitt administration needs to hire a good coach for these kids. For the most part they have struggled to make the right decisions over the last 25yrs.

Glad to see Parkway back calling games again.Just hope he don't go Bipolar on us again.Hes such an expert

Tell me I’m wrong that isn’t the way the grandpa feels about breathitt county sports. I’ve seen post on Facebook with him saying this stuff arguing with James David Fugate in the past over a call made during a wolfe/breathitt game last season. Carry on in full denial if you want. James David Fugate ask why don’t skylar play for breathitt and per quote you stated “the ritchies Apparently have never been good enough for the breathitt county bobcats”.

wait I’m hung up on something here….a high school kid bought a farm? Clarification

To early to tell on a lot of this with the transfers. But Knott Letcher will both be there in the end. One returns whole team other is very well coached and creates talent from what was a place no one wanted to be. But, again until the transfer dust lands Sperry is still the best player returning in the 14th and Perry returns the most impactful players. Ritchie is the kick if he lands at Perry it’s Perry’s to lose if they stay together. If he lands in the the arms of Breathitt they will have a legit chance to repeat
14th will be fun again to watch.

Turnover you got Parkway all up in flames with the prospects of Ritchie returning to Breathitt. Someone call the fire department

Parkway needs to stick to refing quit trying to take it out on Papaw because his boy didn't win the region.
