Perry County Central 56 Breathitt County 55
#1
Perry wins it with a 3 at the buzzer by SO guard Trayten Woods.
#2
Sperry tried to get fancy with Collins at the end and it cost them the game. If the Bobcats can’t beat Perry on their home court while Perry’s best player is sitting on the bench with his hat on then I’m not seeing them beating the Commodores when it really matters in March. We shall see.

Bone headed play. Could of ran the clock and they wanted to showboat. Good for Perry.

Tough loss but Glad to see Breathitt playing hard. I seen a team I haven’t seen all season the second half. If they play with intensity the rest of the season they will be tough come tournament time.

Good win for Perry after 5 straight losses. Woods had a heck of a game.

Tough play at the end but glad to see the energy they brought forth the 2nd half. Combs and both Bellamy’s had a rough shooting night but played through it. I know Hamilton is small but I love the energy he brings to the floor and would like to see him in the rotation some. I believe the Bobcats will continue to improve and will be okay.

I think at some point, we have to consider, he may not be their best player?  Just a possibility, he’s very good, and they need him. But to say their “best player” is definitely debatable    Great win for my Dores!!

Trayton Woods may be the new sheriff in town. The kid put on a show.

Yes. He’s playing well.  Deserved some recognition at the point

Beverly is by far their best player. He’s the best floor general in the region. Kizer slone is their second best player. He’s the player that kept them within striking distance of breathitt tonight. At one point in the fourth I think he scored 11 of their points in a role. Woods is a good player with a smooth shot but Beverly is the main ingredient of that team. With Beverly tonight they would have beat bhs by double digits. Breathitt played harder than I’ve ever seen them play tonight.

Perry central is well coached. Congratulations coach Hoskins on a big win
#11
Breathitt plays without any thought to time and score. Perry and Hazard both will play with discipline which is what makes them the favorites. Absolutely no reason to be thinking about scoring with a 2 point lead under 10 seconds to go.

Can’t claim any moral victories either. Much more to focus on besides blowing the win on a bone head play. If BHS is a top tier team, which their not, this game is never close enough to get to a last second shot. Perry was playing on the road, losers of five straight, and without their best player. We should be ok though, we got a football guy as head coach, “star” player’s uncle as assistant coach, and new last night, the re-emergence of the board members first cousin to the bench. Cluster *u*k

Classic Breathitt Co
Gotta love it.

I thought Breathitt looked pretty dang impressive last night considering all they have been threw. Perry was blowing them away the first quarter and all of a sudden wham it was a game again. I think Kyle will line them out. I don’t know why Collins don’t touch the ball more. He looks like a man among boys when he is in the flow of the game. I was impressed with Sperry to. The kid can get to the rack any time he wants. Breathitt is a dangerous team.
#15
Be interesting to see where this team is at in a week or two. Last night was basically a trial run with Kyle without any preparation with the team. They definitely came out second half with a different look.

Breathitt has to get more out of combs and Bellamy, sperry and Collins can’t win this region alone. Just like Perry, we have to get more from Tyler day and get Rydge back in there healthy, Perry can’t win the region with slone and woods carrying 75% of the scoring. That’s where hazard comes in to play, well coached and more balanced of a team. Gonna be an interesting regional tournament for sure!!

Breathitt will be okay. They are getting used to a new coach. They were down 14 points at 21-7 at one time and from that point on they outscored the Commodores by 12 points and would have been 16 points or more if they had gathered their thoughts a little better in the closing seconds. Perry had no choice but to foul and send them to the line but the the Bobcats bailed them out with the only avenue the Commodores had to win. I think they will get it going in the right direction and be ready for tournament time when it really counts.

Bobcats just make a selfish, boneheaded play in the closing seconds of a game that was seemingly over to most. Classic Breathitt play not knowing time and situation. Sperry trying to do too much and be a superstar. Collins had a monster game and Hoskins made a few good moves here and there. To win tough games and to compete for region the bobcats are gonna have to excuse my French but “pull their head out of their a**”

Horrible take in my opinion. I seen a different team last night and I think that is your turning point in the season. I know the football players respect coach Moore so they play hard for him and I think he will earn the respect of the others.

They also added one of our own on the coaching staff in Wes Noble and I know for a fact he will bring a lot of knowledge to the table and put in hard work to get the most out of these boys. They will be fine. Like I said even though it was a tough loss it is your turning point in the season.

It's pretty simple, the offense should be ran through Collins. He is 6'7, athletic, and he can score with his back to the basket. There is no reason why he should ever be on the wing, when playing a 14th region team. Against other premier big guys, I can understand putting him on the wing, but he is a match up nightmare in the 14th at the five spot. Also, Breathitt's guards have to make open shots. I have watched four or five games this year, and our best shooters are not making open shots. If this doesn't change, it's going to be a short postseason in Jackson.

We must have watched a different game.  Perry Central was a 6-9 team. They lose by double digits to Hazard.

Didn’t Perry just play at hazard and lost by 3?  Not sure about the double digit but I may have missed something. #hatersgonnahate

Hazard has a good team and you could be right but Morale is back up and I think they will be fine.

Breathitt came out of the locker room and took over the 3rd quarter. Perry's defensive is good, but they weren't playing the passing lanes like they did such a good job at last year. Honestly, if Perry had got back on defense quicker, and maybe used a match-up 2-3 to stop the drive, this game wouldn't have ever came down to a last second 3pt. shot. Perry needs to block out better too, offensive boards for BHS kept them in it. other than the 3rd quarter when they just ran inside and shot lay-up after lay-up. Most close games are won in the 3rd quarter in my opinion, but somehow, BHS found a way to lose this one after pulling themselves out of a hole. Perry got lucky on that shot, but still, like I said, Perry shouldn't have ever been in that situation. I can see shooting a wide open lay-up to seal the deal, but when Sperry passed to Collins, he shouldn't of tried to get fancy, just turn and lay it up, you are 6'7!! Will be an interesting region tourney, no clear leader of the pack at this point.

If ran right the match up zone is a tough defense to score on. Shanon love man to man though.
