Hounds headed to Kroger field

The battle of Lynn camp creek is officially over. The success moves our battle front to the front line once again. We’re the tip of the spear gentlemen. Either use bayonets or be bayoneted. We’ve got a week to clear the bodies and turds that’s floating. Both teams are in the early stages of planning. I’m hearing the battle of Roy Kidd Hill will be next friday @ 730. You can watch the troops move into position along weeping eagles bridge around 630. Be there or do us a favor and lay down so we can step on all the week as we move forward.

Dangerous game for the Hounds. We've seen scenarios play out before where the Hounds were at home deep in the playoffs expecting to advance and... a visitor spoiled the party.
Madison Southern- '96, Taylor County- '99 , Glasgow - '00 , Larue Co.- '01 , Owensboro Catholic- '04 , Newport Central Catholic- '08 , Central- '14 (the "off the foot catch " game . Not to mention, Bourbon Co. in '99 .
There's are reasons we haven't tasted a title in 40 years and one of those are games like this next one where we come up short at Campbell Field when we were expected to move on. If we keep doing the things we've been doing for most of the season, we should move on to Kroger, but we mustn't overlook a very good Franklin County team. They are very capable of being the next Larue County or Owensboro Catholic.

Franklin County has definitely played one of the harder schedules in the state. Corbin should win but it wouldn’t surprise me to see the opposite.

Now that we’re in the state semis, Corbin can no longer stream the game correct? I believe the KHSAA takes over now and blocks any schools from doing that. Kinda sucks cause they’ll stream the title games but not the semis unless I’m wrong. Any idea if Corbin will stream Friday?

You might be able to buy the rights, or it seems like that use to be the case. It was a few thousands dollars.

I can see this game going a few different ways. (No joke hound tell us some we don’t know, right?) If we get our offense clicking like it was the past couple weeks, it could be a very bad night for the flyers.

If we come out emotionally flat, and unprepared, it’s gonna be difficult to get
By them.

Coach James if a good coach, he gets his team playing at the right time. I’m sure he’ll have some wrinkles we won’t expect but hopefully we’ll get a handle on it. It’s hard to beat a team twice, especially one as dangerous as FC. But if we keep our focus and INTENSITY, and our offense gets going I can see us getting in the high 30’s and even 40’s. I don’t see our D even on a bad night allowing them to score over 30. It’s gonna be hard to completely stop their offense. About impossible. To many weapons. But if we can slow KMoor down and force them to pass, I think we’ll come away with the W. If our offensive passing game isnt running on all cylinders it might get closer than what we would like. But I’m going to go with close to score from last week, arOund 35-21.

I don’t quite think that Franklin moves the ball as well as Johnson but Moorman is plenty capable of breaking a big one. I want to be more conservative in my pick but I’m feeling 35-14 type score. I just don’t see Franklin scoring 20 again and can’t see Corbin not putting up points.

I tend to agree with your assessment don’t think I could have said it better myself

You know one factor that I didn’t even consider? SICKNESS!! It’s going around Corbin like a junkie on the first of the month. I would assume it’s not just Corbin either.

Don’t forget December 6th, 2002.. Breathitt County Bobcats spanked our Redhound Arse 51-0.. Thinking a young QB Named Justin Haddix did most of the spanking..

Yes, but I was talking about games where most expected us to win. I think Breathitt was a pretty significant favorite in that game. Still, a woeful performance by any standard. This Haddix guy has been a thorn in our hind end(sorry, Dougie) for two decades and counting.

Quite possibly the worst Corbin team that I've seen in 30 years and they make it to the title game. That was a fun playoff run. Sure they were helped by the torrential downpours every week of the playoffs and a running back who would go on to be the states best in Lawson but that team was definitely lacking from an overall talent standpoint. Heck of a run they had.

I'm just hoping for a good solid game with no weird happenings deciding the game. Does anyone remember what happened on yesterday's date(Nov. 21) in the third round of the playoffs about eight years ago?

Yeah the infamous kicking the ball to himself catch vs Central that cost us a trip to the title game, was that Haddix’s first season?

Yep.  I felt like Jack Buck. "I couldn't believe what I just saw."

Here's the game from earlier in the season if anyone wants to watch.

Don't know if Franklin Co will but what an upset it will be.

Franklin wins running the ball and dominating the clock.

I’ll be pulling for Corbin. Good luck Hounds!!
I really thought this team looked like a legit contender after watching them the very first game of the year. Hope they can pull it out but good luck to both teams on an injury free game .

I didn’t sleep well for a few days after that, and took us going to Commonwealth in 17 to start getting over it.  I’ll be mad till Friday night again now thanks for bringing it up lol…

Hounds beat FC, and Boyle gets upset this week by Central looking over them toward Corbin, the Red Hounds win it all beating Central handedly in the ship, the only thing that'd make this state title better is if they'd got to beat Haddix. Then Greer retires, going out a winner and Haddix Returns to Corbin. Pure unadulterated speculation, but it could happen.

A Whitley County running back carried Corbin through the playoffs. You owe me a ton of draft picks.

Corbin shuts out Franklin

They should know from this year and last that they are not same level or league as Corbin. The RB from Franklin won’t even get 100 yards.
