Revelation 19:8-9
8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
----------------------------------------------------------
In yet another twist of what I would call ultimate irony, although I do not accept the validity of the notion of climate change: men are right to worry about a time when the sun will scorch them to the point of nearly burning their skin off. But the great heat coming upon the earth will not be the result of fumes from your tailpipe--- climate change in other words. This great heat will be unleashed upon unrepentant men as one of the seven plagues associated with the 7 vial judgements of the Great Tribulation. Since the days of the Great Flood Judgment, the Lord has been longsuffering in withholding further judgment upon mankind. But the days of His longsuffering are nearly over as we see the inevitable slide into Globalism intensify day by day. And as I have noted, Globalism is the on-ramp to the one world government and at government's head will sit one man. Antichrist
Have you ever wondered why men are so obsessed with civilization ending circumstance? Extinction level weather events are a common theme in movies and TV shows. That along with the threat of existential illnesses, food shortages, water shortages, pollution; you name it and men are afraid of it. Ironically these examples are specifically called out in the Tribulation judgments which BTW, God who lives outside of time and Who as a consequence is free to observe the beginning of man or the end of man as He may choose, has foreseen it and recorded it in His Holy Word. Put another way, the book of Revelation is actually a history book as observed and recorded as seen through the eyes of God. Not one iota of Scripture will fail to happen. It's called prophecy and it's a done deal.
But as I asked, why are men so obsessed with the idea of the end of man? In my view though they are lost, they are nonetheless brilliant and intuitive. Men therefore know instinctively that their own end is near. It has to do with the fact that we are all created by God, spiritual beings with the power to choose. Therefore what we choose becomes our ultimate reality. The saved for example choose to bow in repentance before God, asking for forgiveness. Theirs becomes eternal life with the God of this universe. The lost on the other hand, as in the case of those in the scripture above, will choose to blaspheme God right up to the end. Their end is eternal punishment in Hell which was created primarily for Satan and his fallen angels. It's hard to explain but the vast majority of those alive today will choose to die in their sin. But being spiritual beings we know instinctively that one, there is a God to Whom we must answer: and two, the end of time is upon us.
Either way make no mistake. Heaven will be filled with those who chose to bow before God. While Hell will be filled with those who chose to defy God.
Romans 1
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

^^WITHOUT EXCUSE
Probably the biggest and by far the most unfortunate mistake people could ever make where it comes to the day they stand before God, is in thinking that standard of judgment will be their being compared to those others they consider to be really bad people: or that there is some sort of spiritual scale on which one's good deeds will be weighed against the bad. Or even worse, that they consider themselves to be morally superior to true Christians because of some shortfall or misstep for which that Christian may have been found guilty.
The truth is that those who have not accepted the blood of Christ to cover their sins will in fact be compared to God Himself. Holy, righteous, sin-free. He is in fact, incapable of sin or even considering sin. Adam and Eve who started life out in paradise, displayed their true nature when they did by choice sin. And the world system which resulted from their lives is a system built on sin. We are therefore all born into sin on the day of our birth. Now that does not mean the very young are accountable before the Lord until after they reach the age of accountability. Nonetheless the idea that doing more good than bad will gain us entry to heaven is not true. The only excuse any of us will have is to plead the blood of Christ, Who died for us on the cross. Because outside of our belonging to Christ Who paid for our sin debt with His life, there is no excuse.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse on earth or in the Lord's heavenly court called --- the Judgment.
Hebrews 9:27

^^ Without excuse: Choice
So we are without excuse where it comes to that inevitable day when every last one of us will stand before God in Judgment.
But as mentioned above just as Satan, as well as those angels who willfully chose to follow his example and rebel against God: so too did Adam and Eve choose to rebel against God. You see Adam and Eve were born into perfection, living their lives on a perfect world in a place called Eden. Same thing was true for the heavenly host of which Satan and his angels were part. They lived in perfection in the presence of God Himself and incredibly, chose to defy Him of their own free will. God can do anything and with respect to men, He could certainly have created them in such a fashion that they would have been incapable of sinning. So why did our Creator give man free will?
I believe God explained Himself to that end in the the following scripture.
Revelation 19:5-9
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
In the scene above Jesus Christ is the Groom, and His bride is the Church. He chose us first, even before we were born. And in return, as in the case of the perspective bride, every person must decide whether to bow before Christ, or reject Him. We the Church will join the Groom, Jesus Christ, at the marriage supper of the lamb. And what an incredible affair of eternal ramification that will will be!! But if you take free will out of the equation, people would be little more than robots. Who'd want to spend eternity like that? I believe there is nothing on this earth more rewarding than being with someone who returns your love unconditionally, of their own free will. And I believe to some degree the same thing is true with our God. Hence the validation of free will as well as the just condemnation of those who insist on redefining what the Lord clearly set forth in Scripture.
Sadly many people intend to 'get right' with God (for lack of a better way to put it)--- but death always catches up to them before they do so. Men wrongly believe they have plenty of time, but the Scripture says "life is a vapor."
James 4:14
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Like a breath on a cold morning, life is here for such a brief time. But in addition to the above there is another problem in man's being stubborn about facing his own responsibility before God. For an abundant duration of time relative to the number of our days on earth the Holy Spirit strives with the hearts of men, convicting them of their need to repent and be saved. But God's patience is not unlimited, and a man's conscience can and will after a time, become so desensitized that he can no longer discern God's call.
In keeping with the spirit of this thread the scientific community are wrong where it comes to global warming, and mankind are wrong where it comes to the importance and eternal ramifications of ignoring God's unmistakable tug on their hearts. There is a saying in this country where it comes to death which says--- "You can't take it with you."
1 Timothy 6:6
6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
We all came here with only one thing, the right to choose. As the knight said to Indiana Jones, "choose wisely."

^^ With regard to the relationship between Jesus Christ and His Church as referenced in Revelation chapter 19 above---
He is as I said, referred to as The Groom and His Church is the Bride of Christ. Eph 5: 22-27 And as such the picture here is that the Christian's relationship with the Lord is likened to the image of Holy Matrimony between a man and a woman here on earth. The Groom and the Bride 'choose' each other in marriage, which btw is to be once for all until death do they part. This arrangement where the Lord is concerned, is an eternal commitment under which during our time here on earth following the salvation experience, each Christian is conformed to the image of Christ as his eyes are continually opened to the truths of God. But make no mistake, to be saved means to make a personal choice to live from that day forth for God. And after all, living life with our spouse here on earth is a commitment and a choice by both the groom and the bride. To not consciously make that momentous choice, or to put that choice off until it is too late, is the exact same thing as rejecting the Son of God outright. And it has eternal ramifications.
And as I have said in times past, God is not fooled by any man as to the true nature of his heart. Not so much as the most fleeting fragment of thought each of us will ever have escapes God's notice. He knows our every intent. That's why 'the lost' cannot and will not speak at their own judgment.
