Back to the topic...Best backcourt IMO is Pugh and Slone at Paintsville. This could be the Tiger's year if they get it together.

IF they can get it together. Last year was supposed to be their year too, they struggled with chemestry. Lets hope they can work things out to where they can play the way they should be able to. I just hope the Paintsville fans dont use youth as an excuse this year like they have the last two.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

Chemistry is the key for Paintsville....They had it in spots last year and umbarassed the regional champs. Bottom line, they get it together they will be a HANDFULL!!!

top 5 backcourts guys...........please? enough about Paintsville. Let those boys live their lives. If they change schools, so be it....

I heard that he might be going to Pikeville for football, wondering if this was true? heard it a while back thoughThe kid from Dorton, Elisha Justice will help Valley big time. He is a great ball handler, quick and plays smart.

Yea he is

I find it astonishing just to watch how smart Elisha is on the court. For him to be put in big game situations and still an eighth grader, that is impressive by our region standards today. In previous pick-up games with him, I try my best not to have to guard him because I am afraid he will break my ankles.

How about Johnson Central now with the addittion of Jaryd Crum moving there from Shelodn Clark? Crum and McCarty will be tough to handle.
06-26-2006, 09:23 AM
True, Johnson Central should be tough to handle if Crum is now there. However, I am interested to see if Crum and McCarty can make a smooth transition to playing with each other. We all know that these are two good scorers, but I hope there will be no jealousy between the two of who is scoring the most points. Good luck to Johnson Central during 06-07

Crum and Mccarty are already getting along and I think there will be no problems there. This will free up Mccarty to do what he does best and that is shoot the 3-ball and crash the boards!!! Crum is hands down the best pg in the 15th IMO.He is super fast and can handle the rock. His vision of the court and his ability to run the teams offence is a thing of beauty to behold. The kicker on this team will be a player by the name of Zac Sergent. He will be playing the 4 slot and he can flat out take it to you.Just remember the name and come this fall you will see what I'm talking about.Jesse meeks is a solid player who can shoot lights out!I think JC is a no brainer in the 15th this year,SORRY TIGERS!!!! GO JC!!!!!!!!!! :Cheerlead irateSho :1:

JC is a no brainer??? Just like Paintsville was last year?? You guys that make these "no brainer" or "hands down favorite comments" are awfully bold...considering the the history of this region the past few years..Crum is a nice player but he still has a long way to go developmentally....the times I saw him last year he had trouble against the bigger, more physical guards...I think he will have to get much stronger in order to be able to handle the physical play..also...EVERY time you have a transfer you have chemistry problems...it may not be between Crum and McCarty...but you can guarantee that someone on that team will be unhappy...and if that someone convinces one or two more to be unhappy...you have a problem..

He has a long way to go developmentally? You must have seen a different guy playing or something. He could not be stopped last last year at the pg position. He averaged 15 pts. a game,4.86 assist,2.45 turnorvers. He shot 91% from the free throw line for the season. He has been named to the all district team both years he has been in highschool. If you call this developmentally lacking then I would hate to have to play for you or even have you as a fan of the team I was playing for.
06-28-2006, 05:08 PM
WOW...impressive stats...you a family member?? Go back and read my post...I said THE TIMES I SAW HIM he had trouble against against bigger, more physical guards...and I DID NOT SAY "LACKING" I said he needs to develop more...mainly physically..and I HOPE he develops physically...the way the game is today you must be strong to excel against bigger, stronger players..knowing his dad I would say he would agree with me whole-heartedly..
06-28-2006, 05:10 PM
AND...as as far as "could not be stopped" there was NO ONE in the 15th last year that "could not be stopped" NO ONE.

Crum is a good point guard but I have to agree with Hoops Lover 100% in this little debate that is going on!!

Tell me who is better than Jaryd in the 15th!! Hoop Lovers may know his dad and seen Jaryd play a couple of times, but I have watched him since he began to play basketball.I've known him all his life and no his dad would not agree with you about his development.I keep a very close tract on his stats for him.

Landon Slone,Jamie McCarty,JD Vanhoose,Shane Grimm,Ethan Johnson,Jamie Case, and Tyler Hamilton are a few who I would rate over Crum........
But if were just talking point-guards I guess he would be on top because he's the only one I can think of.
JMO on this.

:thatsfunn Thank you for your insight there Moe!!! I was talking about the pg position. If you would have read back a few more post you would have noticed that hoops lover was telling me as a pg Jaryd was not developmentally sound.I just stated I thought he was.As far as your list I say to each his own!IMO I would put Jaryd right there in the mix with all of them.Slone,Grim, and Vanhoose has not done anything special. The other three I know very little about.MCcarty is a solid player but seems to be injury proned.I can't wait till the black and gold comes to your school. Then you and hoops lover can tell me how much Crum is lacking!!!
